Simplicity. For over twelve years we have been visiting the Highlands and honing our definition of the perfect weekend retreat- A simple luxurious place with plenty of room for friends and a location close enough to town so the car can stay parked as long as we want. We finally found the house to make this dream come true. After months of renovations, it is all we imagined. With a fun rustic-modern vibe, the house is a short stroll from Main Street and The Old Edwards Inn and has room for up to ten. Three bedrooms upstairs and a separate sitting area, two bedrooms and a games nook downstairs makes the house ideal for two families to share. It has an open layout and is ideal for entertaining, wedding parties, girl's weekends, guy's weekends, dogs-playing poker weekends...This is the place for your Highlands adventures.
Walk to world class shopping, a day at the spa, the ice cream shops, great restaurants, or take a short trip to countless outdoor adventures. The wifi will let you stay plugged in, the 48' HD flat screen will let you catch the game, and a brand new deck and grill out back invite you to enjoy the beautiful climate at 4118 feet above sea level. Walk to Harris Lake, where you can feed the ducks (or geese, we don't discriminate) or do a little fishing.
This happy house is comfortable, casual and smack in the middle of all the Highlands action...everything you need for a wonderful escape to the mountains!
Hi, we are the Buntings and would be so pleased for you to stay in our new house. We've been visiting Highlands for years and look forward to you enjoying it as much as we do.
Laird Memory Bunting purchased this house in 2012
This property has a a lovely and peaceful setting next to a lake and right in town...the best of both worlds!
The home was within walking distance of Main Street (.5). The home was super clean and the layout was perfect for our group. Would go back again.
This home was the perfect place for a wedding weekend getaway! Sleeps all comfortably and you cannot beat the location. If you want a cozy stay that's walking distance from the action in Highlands, this is the place to be!
Very nice, clean and comfortable home! Very convenient location to town and an easy walk to all the shops, restaurants, and markets! Also, steps from mirror lake which the kids loved fishing! The house is well furnished and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Very comfy beds with nice linens and towels! All around wonderful spot!
We have been coming to the Highlands for the New Year for about 5 years now. We've always stayed in a newer cabin 10 or so minutes from town. This year, with a new grand baby, we decided it would be easier to stay IN town. What an awesome idea!
* Great location - One house over to a beautiful lake and the road that takes you down to the main highway. We walked to town every day and to Sunset rock.
* Spacious for an older ranch
* Renovated for the most part
* 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs. A separate family could stay downstairs and have complete privacy
* The "retro" feel of the home was loved by all... including my girls in their 20's.
* Large den area.
* The owners were great to discuss things with and I appreciate their helpfulness.
* The bedrooms have "older" outlets, so bring a converter if you need to plug in a 3 prong electrical item in the bedrooms. I found one in the den after a couple of days but we all had our Mac's. :)
* A lockbox to enter the house when you arrive would be a better system (vs the home being unlocked).
We loved this home! My daughters said it was their favorite home we've rented and we've rented some much "newer" homes. This home is just cozy and relaxing and comfortable. We hope to be back again in 2014!
I needed a 5 bedroom house in the Highlands area for my sons wedding. This house and property was perfect!!!
The house itself was awesome with 2 bedrooms and a large living area on one floor, and 3 bedrooms and a living area on the other floor. There is a nice big deck and a great yard. The house sits on a large wooded lot on a residential street. The best part is access to trails, a pond, and town! We basically didn't need a car.
The house had everything we needed and the owner was great to work with. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a large, comfortable home, within walking distance of Highlands. Enjoy!
Our family of six enjoyed a fabulous week in this pristine home. We loved the neighborhood feel of the area. The nearly flat and safe roads enabled my teens to enjoy ripsticking to Main Street. Being able to leave the car parked and stroll into town for whatever we wanted was heaven. There are nice hikes or bike rides right in the neighborhood. Fabulous hikes and views a short drive away. Highlands Aerial Park, renting a pontoon boat on Lake Glenville and whitewater rafting on the Chatooga River were some highlights. This home is just lovely. Fresh and clean, so tastefully decorated. And a great back yard to play in to boot!
