Quinta Santana is a spacious 4 bedroom villa nestled in 4 acres of beautiful landscape, orchards and farmland - and despite being only a short distance from Tavira Town, has a peaceful, rural ambience. Inside, the living accommodation is generously sized and has air conditioning. On the ground floor is an open-plan living area with lounge, kitchen breakfast area and dining room, along with 2 bedrooms. The first floor comprises 2 further bedrooms which have own balconies overlooking the wonderful countryside.

The villa gardens and lawns are large and beautifully maintained, and are securely gated creating ideal play space for children without risk. There are two large verandas - one offers a very pleasant view across the valley and towards the Benamor Golf Course and the other surrounds the pool with plenty of space for relaxing and sunbathing. Sunbeds and mattresses are provided. The pool area is very private and also has superb ' al fresco' dining facilities comprising; double BBQ cooking area, sink, preparation worktop and fridge to keep pool refreshments well chilled along with a dining table and chairs. This is a great place to relax - and bird watching enthusiasts should not forget the binoculars! Quinta Santana is an impressive villa with excellent outside space - and with its beautiful setting, is an excellent retreat for guests looking for a ‘get away from it all’ holiday.

We've have had an amazing time in Quinta Santana, the house was beyond our expectations, so welcoming, clean and well-equipped. We loved the pool, the bbq and hoopoes and visited the waterfall and beach too. George made a special visit to remove a wasp nest for us and Chantel and Andre took good care to welcome us and explain things. Well done smartavillas!

Almargem has very little in terms of amenities, but offers its visitors a really pleasant countryside feeling - despite being only a few minutes drive away from the bustling town of Tavira. The small district is predominantly farming land, and has a river nearby with many orchards alongside. Great for a morning / evening stroll. Around 10 minutes walk from the villa there is a great restaurant famous for its 'steak on the stone' and a cafe bar just near by. All very pleasant in the evenings. Tavira town, for those who enjoy walking, is around 20 minutes on foot. By car only a few minutes. This is a must for visitors to Quinta Santana - restaurants, cafe bars and sight seeing in abundance!

The Beautiful Town Of Tavira: When staying in this accommodation a visit to the beautiful town of Tavira is essential! You will not fail to be enthralled by its unspoilt charm, character and tranquillity. As you wander along the cobbled streets, you'll see an abundance of history dating as far back as 2000BC. A Roman bridge links the 2 parts of the town across the River Gilao, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful drink or meal. Horse drawn carriages and a small train operate around the town and are perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the peaceful ambience. The many churches (37 in total!), the town castle and the typical fisherman's harbour leading to the River Formosa Natural Park are all places to visit, along with the wonderful daily market selling fresh home grown produce. Tavira Island and its wonderful beach is accessible by ferry boat from the town and offers excellent facilities with a wonderful holiday atmosphere.

Local Beach And Other Things To See And Do: The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches and both Cabanas beach, and the Ilha de Tavira, are approx 3 kms from this villa. The Island is reached by by catching a ferry from a designated point. By travelling a little further afield there are a good range of things to do for everyone. For nature lovers, forest walks, cruises along the River Guadiana or nature trails along the Ria Formosa Reserve where bird watching is in abundance! Travelling West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Ghia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine all easily reached by car or by day trip coach. The Spanish border town of Ayamonte is approx 25 kms by car, where the delights of another country can be sampled along with wine, Tapas and shopping. Ayamonte can be reached by ferry from Vila Real. Seville is about 170km away.

Golf: This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and can be reached within several minutes. The prestigious new course of Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus now has its first 18 holes open and is continuing in its development to the second phase offering the height of golfing luxury - although a costly experience, this is a real treat for golfing fanatics wishing to experience a little high life! Travelling only 10kms further on towards Spain, the challenging course of Castro Marim, along with its famous country club comes highly recommended and just on the border are the Costa Esuri and Quinta do Vale courses now growing in popularity. We can organise a full golfing package with 1 price per head with play at a selection of these courses, car hire and rental of this property. (Flights not included)
