Dove Cottage combines an appealing mix of traditional and modern features including original fireplaces, some low ceilings and steep stairs as well as pitched rooves, glass roof lights and modern, light decor. The unusual layout over three floors is flexible, making it cosy for just two, or suitable for up to 6 family or friends. The ground floor includes an attractive, airy kitchen / dining area; utility area; 22 ft sitting room / dining room with wood burning stove; bathroom with shower over bath and double bedroom (2 singles or king size bed). Upstairs the main bedroom has a king-sized iron bed, original fireplace and basin, plus views over woodland. A 'duplex' bedroom provides a dressing / toy room with a sturdy 'alternate tread' staircase up to a twin bedroom on the top floor with beautiful views over the cathedral rose window and woodland. The cottage has attractive, private, enclosed gardens to front and back, both accessed via further communal gardens. Free parking on road.

The tiny, historic town of Arundel is located 3 miles from the South Coast of England, between Chichester and Brighton. Dove Cottage is within a few minutes walk of Arundel's cathedral, castle and attractive High Street with many shops, pubs and restaurants, also 200m from the enormous Arundel Park for long country walks. Aswell as the castle, cathedral and park, Arundel offers an outdoor swimming pool (summer only), boating on the river and lake and interesting Arundel Wetland and Wildlife Centre. Unspoilt Climping Beach is within 5 mins drive and enormous,sandy West Wittering Beach within 30 mins. The beautiful South Downs surround the town. The history, shops and nightlife of Chichester and Brighton are within 30 mins drive, as is Goodwood Race Course and Gardens. Even Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and ferries to the Isle of Wight are less than an hour way. Arundel is 40 miles south of Gatwick and 60 miles from London with good road access and a direct rail link.

  • BOOKINGS
    Standard arrival for weekly bookings is on Friday from 4pm onwards, to leave following Friday by 10am.
    3 day weekend breaks include Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, arriving after 4pm Friday and leaving by 10am Monday. 4 day mid-week breaks include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, arriving after 4pm Monday and leaving by 10am Friday. Prices listed include all linen, towels, gas and electricity.
  • PAYMENT
    If booking more than 6 weeks in advance, a 25% deposit is required. Balance is due 6 weeks before arrival. If booking less than 6 weeks in advance, full payment will be required immediately. Payment by cheque, internet or direct bank transfer or via Pay Pal. Cancellation details provided by email on booking form.
  • CHRISTMAS 2009
    Christmas bookings will run from Wednesday 23 December to Tuesday 29 December (6 nights) for £600.
    New Year bookings will run from Wednesday 30 December to Monday 4 January (5 nights) for £500.

The ground floor bedroom has views over the back garden and cathedral and can be prepared with one king sized bed or two twins. The combination of a ground floor bedroom and bathroom make it suitable for less physically able guests. Due to its steepness, the alternate tread staircase up to the attic twin bedroom is not recommended for children under 5 or the infirm.
