Photos and Description of the Cher vacation house rental

Our offer consists of two holiday houses, on an old farmstead in the centre of France 200 km from Paris, in the Loire Valley. Aubinges is a small village in Berry, situated between Bourges and Sancerre, in the department of Cher. We are both potters and produce common tableware, restaurant tableware and dinnerware, children’s crockery, roof ridges and other original figures. You are welcome to watch us while we work and in the evening, you can even try for yourself. The region around Berry is known for its pottery and there are about 50 potteries 60 km away, most of which turn out artistic wares. We will gladly carry out special requests in your presence and in a few days time you can collect your order straight from the oven. We have twins, Jacob and Anna, aged 6 and a daughter, Helene, aged 3. Young people will have plenty to entertain themselves with here and our children are always glad to make new friends. There are often group activities on offer including Land Rover expeditions.

Aubinges is a small locality in Berry, not an eye-catching tourist destination but an example of a traditional, secular French village. There are no French or German guides here; however, you will find yourself amongst real French people as you sit in the restaurant. Sancerre is 25 km away, famous for its white wine. We have a very mild climate with low rainfall in spring and autumn, without the typical heat of the south, ideal for rambling, bicycle hikes and sightseeing. There is a private lake about 1 km from here. We go swimming here and so can our guests. Bourges, the department capital, is 25 km away and renowned for its parks, gardens and cathedral. Guedelon is a medieval building site, about 70 km away. 8 years ago, work began here on the construction of an original chateau using historical building techniques. One of France’s most beautiful villages is Apremont sur Allier.
