Photos and Description of the Old Forge vacation chalet rental

Located in the town of Old Forge, one block from Rt.28. We have a private dock on the Middle Branch of the Moose River, around the corner from Tickner's Canoe and Kayak Rentals, where you can rent by the week, tie up to your own dock and enjoy the river whenever you like.

Our kitchen is fully equipped-even with most small appliances (coffee maker, toaster oven, crock pot, etc.) as well as a gas stove and oven, Full size refridgerator and freezer,dishwasher and a microwave oven. There is plenty of cupboard space stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils and all other kitchen essentials.

Beautiful sunny dining area seats six.

Large living room with wood stove and 42' flat screen Hi-deph cable TV.

Sliders to large deck with gas grill and picnic table.

Deck overlooks yard and river. Flat grassy area perfect for croquet, badminton or bocce ball. Fire pit with chairs

Full bath with bathtub and shower

Master bedroom is on main level with queen size bed, good closet space.

Upper level has two bedrooms, one with full size bed and cable TV., other has twin beds.

Basement has washer and dryer.

Modern and clean. No pets and no smoking please.

Retired couple from Connecticut. We love Old Forge and have been coming here for 20 years. It is our second home and we look forward to sharing our Adirondack experience with you and your family!

You can enjoy the wide open spaces that only a snowmobiler can access when you hit the well groomed trails in Old Forge, which is referred to as 'The snowmobile capital of the East'. Permit required.

McCauley Mountain in town offers downhill as well as cross country skiing. You can also enjoy ice skating, snowshoeing, and ice fishing nearby.

The SciSci Chalet is just wonderful. This summer was the third time my husband and I have taken our two children(age 11&12) to the Adirondacks to enjoy our summer vacation. We always return to the SciSci Chalet.
Location is perfect, private dock for daily kayaking or fishing and close to town for fun shopping. Several restaurants are close enough that we can walk to town for dinner and even catch an early movie. My children's favorite is the water park nearby, be sure to take advantage of the 2 day ticket if you have time.
The owners were very easy to work with and offered many suggestions of places to go and things to do with our children. The suggested hikes and sightseeing were a highlight of our week. We even took our kids horseback riding for the first time.
We finished our perfect week with a Bon fire and roasted marshmallows in the backyard. Such wonderful memories. This Chalet is truly a slice of heaven and we hope to return again next summer!

For the past 6 years - in both summer and winter - our family has had the joy of renting this one-of-a-kind Adirondack Chalet from the lovely Sci family. Nestled behind a row of pines on the banks of the Moose River, the chalet offers the beauty and recreation of a waterfront property with the convenience of in-town accessibility. Artfully decorated and perfectly maintained, this beautiful property contains all the necessary modern amenities while maintaining a unique rustic appeal. The Sci Sci Chalet is truly a rare find.

Beautiful Property

We stayed at the Sci Sci Chalet for August 2012 with our two children- ages 15 and 11 and had a wonderful time! The house was clean, beautifully decorated and in a great location- close to Old Forge- everything was within walking distance or a short drive. It has a beautiful deck that overlooks the river along w/all of the amenities you could want- washer-dryer, dishwasher and a fully outfitted kitchen.

Sci Sci Chalet and Old Forge are the perfect Getaway!

We just returned from Old Forge and the Sci Sci Chalet. This house is wonderful and very clean. The photos don't do it justice. The setting is so serene yet still so close to town The owners were easy to work with and helpful with our questions. This truly was the perfect Adirondack experience. The Chalet is only a one block walk to town. Took the kids to play mini golf at Nutty Putty, and ice cream after at Benny's. We also rented kayaks right next door at Tickner's Canoe and Kayak rentals. And if you bring your own Kayaks you can tie them up to the private dock behind the house on the river. There is a huge deck facing the Moose River with tranquil views of the river from both the family room, one of the upstairs bedrooms, and the deck. There is also a Weber gas grill and nice furniture on the deck making it easy for barbecues. We also took the kids to the Enchanted Forest Water Theme Park which is only a 10 minute walk from the house! Our family loved the house and Old Forge and highly recommend both!
