Keywords: VILLA 3 ROOMS WITH SEA VIEW AND SWIMMING POOL
This property was VERY attractive, clean and has a million dollar view. It was comfortable and chic. There were towels (look upstairs too) and everything we needed in a home. Phillippe was a pleasure to work with and helped us with whatever we needed. We stayed here with 2 adults, 1 senior and 2 kids (ages 10 and 12). The pool is a small dipping/small lap pool, but our kids loved it. The kayaks were a great assesst and one of our highlights in going out to Pinel Island (which is a must do on Saint Martin). Also, a MUST is to go to the beach, Anse Marcel, which is up over the hill on the same road and is one of the most beautiful spots on the island to relax and hang out. We had lunch at the Ance Marcel Beach Club twice it was so good. We went to 8 beaches, took a boat trip, grocery shopped and went to numerous restaurants. Our favs were: Beaches (Anse Marcel, Mullet Bay, Pinel Island, Le Petite Plage in Grand Case at the end of the road, Orient Bay (but only at the Coco Beach with Tony our server...or nude beach there has most beautiful part of entire place). Restaurants (Le Tastevin, Calmos Cafe, Marrakesh (Marigot), The Cottage, The Sunset Cafe, Coco Beach Club and Anse Marcel Beach Club, Le Crepe en Rose and the little gelatto shop near the Lolo's in Grand Case near the Calmos Cafe). Excursions: Captain Bob's bob trip (#1 on Trip Advisor and they proved it), Lotterie Farm Zip Line (pool scene was WAY too pricey and too much of a scene, unless you were without kids and/or single), pinel island. The biggest advice I can say is that just go here and relax, enjoy the cultures, food, the warmest water in the world and the beautiful colors of the ocean. The island is much dirtier than we expected and with more liter around than we are used to (we are from Oregon and our beaches are spotless, same with Hawaii) but that being said, we fell in love with it!!! It has some of the most beautiful beaches we have been lucky enough to travel to. We have been to every Hawaiian Island and every tourist place in Mexico, including Tulum. The restaurants were GREAT and the grocery stores were WAY less expensive than Hawaii. I used to be a Travel Consultant for AAA, Uniglobe and a few others. This island and this rental are worth the trip, we just loved Saint Martin.
Looking out at our icy, snowy ,zero degree backyard -in Tennessee !,- after losing power for 2 days- it is hard to believe that less than a week ago we were basking in the St.Martin sun. My husband and I really enjoyed staying here for 6 nights. Horizon Pinel is very clean and exactly as pictured. The view from the deck is lovely. The residential neighborhood is removed enough that you don't feel like you are in a touristy area but close enough to restaurants and shopping to not be inconvenient. The internet, gas cooktop, coffee maker, and BBQ all worked well- didn't use the oven or washing machine. Only one English TV channel that we found (CNN I think), if that matters. If you plan to cook at all, there are a few pots and pans and random items left like olive oil and spices. Bring your own measuring cups and spoons though.Be sure to take the kayaks to Pinel Island (bring cash not credit cards and a dry bag for your things as they will get wet otherwise). Take the short hike to the other side of the island for very decent snorkeling, but be forewarned there is a nudist section of the beach on that side. The shop for Ma Doudou flavored rum (sounds bad; tastes great) is very close by as well but obscurely located in a gated residential area. Things that could be improved: getting timely responses from owner Philippe was a struggle. I started to wonder if this property was possibly a "scam listing"! It isn't and Philippe is a very nice guy, but needs some prompting to reply to emails. Also get very clear directions, as not even taxi drivers were familiar with this area (note: $45 US from the airport for two people one way). When driving, after you get to French Cul-de-sac , when you see Villa Pizza on the right, turn left( if you go straight, that takes you to where the boats launch to Pinel Island). Go about a block and at the large school turn right. Horizon Villa is about 5 minutes drive on the right hand side- the entrance is down the left hand path. I wish we were there right now!
We stayed at Horizon Pinel for 1 week with my sister and her husband. The Villa was exactly as described in the brochure, very clean and had all the comforts of home, except a blow dryer. The view from the balcony outside was breathtaking, very quiet area to come for a relaxing stay. We enjoyed the beach on Pinel Island very much and would highly recommend it, the rental on 2 chairs and one umbrella for the day is 25.00 U.S which is a good value for beach side service for food and drinks. The kayaks were great plus life jackets, and snorkelling gear for the more adventurous was available. Parking was right outside the villa and was safe. All in all this was a fantastic find, we will definitely rent this one again and will pass the info. along to friends and family that plan to vacation in St. Martin. Phillippe was very accommodating and friendly upon arrival and had many recommendations for beaches and restaurants, I would stay at this location in a heart beat again.
My husband and I and our 8 month old baby stayed at Horizon Pinel for one week in January 2015. The pictures do not do this place justice! The villa is much more modern than it appears, with all of the comforts of home. You have a million dollar view of the ocean and Pinel island - it was such a luxury to wake up to it each morning. Philippe was very accommodating, answering all of our questions leading up to the trip and even being flexible on our check out time because we had a later flight. He also made sure we had everything we needed for our baby (crib, highchair, beach toys, etc).
It is situated in Cul de Sac, which is a 5 minute drive from Orient Bay and Grand Case (culinary mecca of St Maarten) or a 5 minute ferry ride to Pinel island. We rented a car during our trip and loved the freedom it provided so that we could check out a new beach each day.
It was our first trip to St Maarten and we would definitely recommend it - the food was incredible, the beaches spectacular and the weather was perfectly hot.
If I'm being picky I would say that the bedrooms are a bit plain, but who really cares about that? Make sure you ask Philippe for detailed directions with an address, the map we had was not enough to find it.
We spend a great 3 weeks with our 2 children (9 and 10 yrs) in this lovely house from July to August.
The house is located in a quiet area, tastefully decorated, has a comfortable terrace and great view on the bay of Cul du Sac and Pinel Island.
Very complete with snorkling gear, 2 kayaks, bbq, etc. Pool is not very big and a little bit shallow, but kids liked it a lot.
Owner Philippe is very supporting and responsive on questions and to resolve small issues.
All in all, this was the nicest holiday houses we stayed in, and would definitely go back to if visiting to St.Martin again.
I visited St. Martin for the first time with seven other family members. Although we were at the maximum occupancy, I thought the villa was very comfortable. The photos of the villa are a good representation of what it looks like inside and out. We had pretty much everything we needed for cooking, and the AC and wireless worked well. The backyard terrace and pool were clean and refreshing, especially after we had been out in the sun all day. Philippe was very helpful and gave us the name of someone we rented a car from at a great rate (much better than we were quoted at the national chains). They were very accommodating (picked us up and dropped us off at the villa) and almost everyone else we dealt with, from taxi drivers to the locals to our charter boat operator (Jerome at Temptation Charter), were just as helpful and friendly. We didn’t see and do as much as we had planned, but we spent an entire day on the charter boat excursion to Anquilla and another day lazing around the pool at Loterie Farm (towards the end of our stay). I highly recommend Villa Horizon Pinel to anyone visiting St. Martin.
Include in your location , you have at your disposal 2 doubles kayaks and all material of scuba diving . You can go to restaurants at pinel island and visit the natural reserve in front of the villa.
