Photos and Description of the Marquette vacation cabin rental

We are a luxury log cabin located 6 miles east of Prairie du Chien, WI. Our heart is to provide a beautiful setting for you to enjoy yourself and...just get away from it all!

We have 3 bedrooms that sleep 6 people comfortably. There is a loft with a King sized bed, one master bedroom with a Queen sized bed, and one bedroom with bunk beds (double sized on bottom and twin sized on top). We have two Bathrooms with a Laundry Facility, a fully equipped Kitchen and Dining area, one spacious Living Room and one Family Room, both with HD Televisions and HD Satellite TV, a large wrap-around deck with a Gas Grill, wheelchair accessible to the 1st floor, an inside Sauna, an outside Hot Tub running year round, hiking trails, a fire pit and a playground.
About Christi Smelzer

As owners of the Windwalker Retreat, we are the Knapp Family and we have been serving this area in business since 1944.

Christi Smelzer purchased this cabin in 2009
Why Christi Smelzer chose Marquette

We bought this property to provide a place for people to enjoy some time away. It's a place for people to come with their families and make new memories.Our cabin is a home away from home and it makes it easy for people to come visit. We have always enjoyed the Prairie du Chien area and we want to share it with others.

Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin is located on the Mississippi River. Our cabins are located 6 miles outside of Prairie du Chien. We are surrounded by bluffs filled with beautiful trees and nature. There are many attractions in and around Prairie du Chien which include, Cabela's, Villa Louis, Wyalusing State Park and many more.

This cabin was so beautiful, clean and had everything available that you might need. The whole place was very comfortable from the beds to the outdoor hot tub!

What a wonderful suprise! We loved the stay. Everything we needed was there. We saw deer in the yard and heard the bay of the wolves when we had the fire pit going. Hot Tub to die for! Morning coffee on the deck was a great way to start our day. Hoping to plan our next nature retreat there next year and want to make the stay longer. Christie was so nice and made us feel welcome.

The cabin was beautiful and even better than pictured. The owners have anticipated every need, including dry wood, towels for the hot tub and sauna and an array of spices for the kitchen. I highly recommend Windwalker to anyone looking for a beautiful get away in the Prairie du Chien area!

Wonderful Stay!

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary here and had a blast. We brought our mopeds along and rode the rural roads around here which was an awesome experience - so remote and beautful with lots of hollows and ridges. The cabin itself was wonderful - the beds and furniture were comfortable and the hot tub was clean and relaxing. I hope to come back in the Fall sometime and enjoy the colors. You will not be disappointed with a stay here.

Just as described. We would definitely recommend this property to others. Very clean. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable bed. Loved the six person hot tub. Located within minutes of local attractions, yet very private. Owner very helpful.
