This lovely 2-story cottage has 3 BR/2 BA in about 1500 sq. ft. It was custom built 1.5 years ago and has many upgraded features - stainless steel appliances, travertine in both bathrooms, beautiful concrete countertops and floors, etc.
The downstairs of the cottage features an open floor plan where the living room with a 2-story ceiling height flows into the kitchen and dining area. There is a 4 person Dining Room table as well as 2 stools at the bar height counter by the kitchen. In the living Room, there is a 40” flat screen TV with DirecTV programming. There is also a large sofa & 1 wing chair recliner and an additional wing chair. In the winter months, enjoy the fireplace with gas logs with auto starter wall switch.
Also located downstairs is the Master Bedroom and compartmented Master Bath. A single vanity is in with the toilet and is separated by a pocket door from the other area of the Master Bath which contains another single vanity in with the Jacuzzi tub and shower combo. In the Master Bedroom, there is a Queen sized bed and a large dresser as well as an armoire with a 26” TV & DVD player combo. There is a tray ceiling with ceiling fan and a walk-in closet. A French door leads out back to the patio area and in-ground pool which features a multi-colored light system making it perfect for evening swims. The entire back yard is fenced.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms – one with a full-size bed and one with a twin bed. Both are connected to the full bath upstairs which features a vanity with single sink, walk-in shower with travertine & hand held shower head, as well as travertine floors.
This is one of several of our family's properties in the state. We live here part of the year, but can be flexible to accomodate vacation rentals.
After looking for property in other beach areas, we visited here about one year post-Katrina & appreciated the small town atmosphere of the area and could see the potential for the MS coast to be rebuilt better than ever. We wanted to help be a part of that rebuilding.
We love the privacy of being removed from other houses, but still close enough to neighbors to not feel isolated. We also love that the property is surrounded on several sides by live oak trees giving the property a beautiful backdrop. The great location (close to the beach, grocery shopping, restaurants, hospital, etc) made it ideal for us. Also, adding the pool recently has made the cottage even more of a place to relax and enjoy the beach-area lifestyle.
Located in a nice area of Long Beach just a couple of minutes walk to the beach, the cottage is within a few miles of several new restaurants with Gulf views in Long Beach, as well as a marina and public pier. There are also many more restaurants, marinas and attractions within a 30 minute drive in either direction. With a WalMart a couple of miles to the west and grocery stores and pharmacies located only a couple of miles to the east, you can easily make a quick trip to pick up supplies. The closet casino in Gulfport is only about 5 and a half miles away, and there are 10 other casinos within a 20 to 30 minute drive.
Hwy 90 runs directly along the beach for 40 miles from Bay St. Louis to the west all the way over to Ocean Springs to the east. This drive is very unique because of its mostly unobstructed view of the Gulf for the entire route plus its abundance of live oak trees all along the route. This drive also features the sweeping views from bridge connecting Bay St. Louis to Pass Christian, as well as the bridge between Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Also, the route takes through 6 distinct towns, all with their unique charm.
If you want to go a little further out, you can be in the French Quarter or the Garden District in New Orleans in less than an hour and a half. Just west of New Orleans and also within a 2 hour drive is the Great River Road in Louisiana populated with several magnificent antebellum plantation houses. This whole area offers a variety of activities to take part in or just stay in the peaceful surroundings of the cottage and relax.

Same rate applies year round for 2014. Property is closed the months of November, December and January for maintenance, repairs and owners' use.
$250 refundable damage deposit is required to hold reservation. Pets are welcome with prior approval and $50 refundable deposit per pet.
