The tastefully restored property is approximately 100 metres from the attractive market square of the ancient bastide village. Ideally situated to get the best that French rural life can offer while providing a base to explore the southwest. The snow caped Pyrenees, the Spanish Basque country and the Atlantic coast make for lovely days out. There is a private courtyard that links the townhouse to Studio Marciac (or Studio du Jazz) which is a stunningly renovated detached period studio apartment. Both properties have every home-from-home comfort that anyone could want for their holiday. Maison Marciac offers accommodation for up to five people on two floors with two en-suite large bedrooms. Studio Marciac offers an optional base for an additional two people Maison Marciac has initially been accredited with three 'Epis' (Ears of Corn), the Gites de France equivalent of three stars. Home to the 'Jazz in Marciac' events.

Maison Marciac is a sympathetically restored and tastefully decorated classic French townhouse conveniently situated near the main bastide style square of the village. Shops, restaurants, and bars are a two-minute walk away, which means that much of a holiday can be enjoyed without the need for a car. All the convenience of a town with a rural village ambiance. A classic French townhouse with a stylish authentic interior. It has a sitting room looking onto a 14th century church, kitchen/dining area, ground floor w.c., curved staircase leading to the en-suite bedrooms. The master bedroom is stunning with balcony overlooking the private courtyard (and beyond) that links Maison Marciac to the Studio (with its own private entrance). The guest bedroom is located at the front overlooking the church (noted for the tallest belfry in the Gers) and sleeps three. It is furnished with a queen size bed and a single bed and has an en-suite shower room (and w.c.). The courtyard is a suntrap.

Marciac, a charming bastide town dating from the end of the 12th century, is a village of 1200 inhabitants. It is situated mid-way between Auch and Tarbes, and a hour an a half from Toulouse. The medieval arcades come alive with the rhythm of the Gers as host to the international Jazz in Marciac (JiM) festival in August and similar events during weekends in autumn, winter and spring. Additional information about rental rates

  • Special Rate - As an incentive during the credit crisis, the above rates have been reduced by 25% from the normal published rate for bookings during the 2009 season. The rates for the 2010 season will be reduced by 10% for advance bookings that are confirmed by 28 February 2010.
    Ensemble Discount – An additional 10% discount on bookings of both Maison Marciac and Studio Marciac together.
  • Reservation Deposit – A deposit equivalent to 25% of the total rental is required at the time of booking. The deposit is non-refundable however it can be applied against a new booking if requested more than eight weeks before the start of the initial rental period. The balance of the rental is due ten weeks before arrival.
  • Security Deposit – A security deposit of €200 is payable upon arrival and returned at the end of the stay. Any damage or breakages will be charged for at the current replacement value. Electrical items that are either damaged or not working must be reported on the day of discovery.

    Cleaning Charge - The final cleaning charge of €50 is payable upon arrival for the Maison Marciac.
