Trash left in bags in hallway from previous guests upon arrival.
Apartment not cleaned thoroughly upon arrival, dirty carpets, linens in closet still damp from washing, smelled, had mgmt company call housekeeper back.
10 people listed on rental agreement, not enough bedding, pillows, etc. Extra pillows in closet were stained with what appeared to be vomit. Housekeeper had to clean.
One pull out couch had feces or vomit on mattress. Called mgmt company, they didn't do much but flip the mattress. Could not use.
Not enough water pressure for showers the first day of stay. Could not flush toilets. Called mgmt company. They said it had something to do with the restaurant on the bottom floor.
After all that we asked to leave or luggage with them for a few more hours the day of checkout so we could walk around the city, but they refused. They said the cleaning lady had to prepare for the next guests. Funny, she didn't prepare for us. I am sure she could have cleaned around some luggage.
The mgmt staff were nice enough, but completely unaccommodating. They didn't offer anything in the way of compensation. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!
Owner's Response: I want to start of by saying that the traveler regrettably did face some issues. This was just a bad weekend for us. Basically, the water pump in the building broke, and the prior guest who stayed in the apartment apparently drank too much vomited on the sofa bed, and DID NOT alert us about it. Our maid (who has been let go since) did not catch it because the sofabed was folded back up quite nicely, but this next guest was unfortunately welcomed with a rude surprise.
However, I do want to point out that each issue was addressed as expeditiously and efficiently as possible. Unfortunately, this guest only stayed for 2 nights (came in on a Friday and left on a Sunday), and so even though we were able to solve each problem the very next day, almost half of her trip was left unsatisfactory.
To address each concern, the trash was left outside the apartment in the hallway because the guest arrived on a non-garbage day. The garbage was taken out the following day when it was time to take out the garbage (we have no control over this - this is just the way it is done in this building). We also promptly sent in the maid the following morning to address any cleanliness issues, had her run the laundry again to re-clean any of the linens that the guest felt were dirty. Unfortunately, we only found out about the stained pull out sofa mattress (and the extra pillows) on Friday night. There was no way to get a new mattress there that night, but a new mattress was delivered the very next day. We actually paid extra for a rush Saturday delivery. Further, we did however, run over to supply the guest with new pillows and sheets that first night. The low water pressure in the showers and toilets (due to a pump problem in the basement) was addressed and completely fixed the very next morning. We also did accommodate the guest with a later check out time by a couple of hours, but from what I recall, the group wanted to stay until the late afternoon, but we simply couldn't accommodate that long of a time frame since we did have to get the apartment ready for the next guest.
We do hope that you will not find this review indicative of our normal operations. Once in a while, things unfortunately do break or go wrong. This happens with every apartment. But please know that we pride ourselves in our ability to fix a problem quickly and efficiently. It is unfortunate that this guest was just here too short of a timeframe to not really see this.
