Comfortably appointed apartments nestled amongst the spacious grounds of Glitter Bay, lends itself to a little bit of heaven in Barbados. Each one offers a garden, pool or ocean view from the balcony or patio of this Spanish style building.

Glitter Bay offers a tranquil oasis with freedom to do as much as you wish or do nothing at all. The spacious gardens surround the large fresh water swimming pool and large separate wading pool. The wide expanse of white sandy beach lends itself to romantic walks while the cool crystal blue ocean beckons you to swim or indulge in some snorkeling to watch small tropical fish dart in and out of the coral beds. Lazing under the shade of the umbrellas while sipping a cool cocktail and indulging in a good book is also an ideal way to spend your days. For the more energetic there are tennis courts and an air conditioned fitness room.

With other resort facilities like concierge services and security it's villa living with a twist!

Details for Glitter Bay 308 'Splendido' 1 Bedroom, Sleeps 3, 1 Bathroom

One bedroom one bathroom apartment on the third level in the third block away from the beach. The modern galley style kitchen has granite counters and a full range of matching cutlery, crockery, glassware, selection of pots, pans and bake ware to satisfy every cook. Full fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave and breakfast bar with 2 stools. Although no washer/dryer provided, laundering can be arranged payable locally. Iron and ironing board are provided. The air conditioned living area has a double seater wall sofa with tropical pineapple motif and a great Berbice chair, TV with cable and DVD player. The living area opens to the balcony where there is a 4 seater teak dining table and separate seating area for two to watch the sunset or curl up with a great book and of course a sundowner cocktail. The living area floor is of red Spanish tiles and the apartment has a lovely view of the gardens and pool and a glimpse of the ocean (the villa next door is also visible).

What a truly wonderful experience

Our stay in apartment 308 'Splendido' for two weeks at the end of July 2012 was the most amazing relaxing holiday. Glitter Bay beach is beautiful, very peaceful, lovely to swim, walk and chill. We loved Ramshackle beach bar for lunch or evenings - a short stroll along the sand from our apartment. The grounds and open space at Glitter Bay are lovely and well maintained. All the Glitter Bay staff were very helpful and friendly and were never intrusive. The beach beds were very comfortable for long lazy days! Our apartment was perfect and had everything we needed and our maid Andrea was lovely and did a great job everyday. The 'welcome pack' was much appreciated on our evening arrival. We cannot thank Marilil and Joe Troulan enough (Barbados Villa Services) for their effiecient service and for looking after us so well. The friendliness and hospitality of the Bajan people was amazing. We can't wait to return!

Peaceful Paradise in excellent location

Our first time to Barbados and as our 11 days passed we realised we had chosen the perfect location at Glitter Bay. The apartment was comfortable, very well equipped and in the kitchen many useful items provided for self catering. Daily maid service was discreet and beneficial. It was lovely sitting on the balcony for meals looking out on the tall palms, lawns and sea. The site was peaceful, a minute's wander from our apartment and we were on the sandy beach, the sea warm and good for swimming. The provided sunbeds and towels made relaxing very easy and the bar area for snacks and drinks was a bonus. The staff were helpful and friendly and the service from Barbados Villa Rentals was excellent. We enjoyed daily walks along the beach where there were a couple of restaurants and a water sports centre. The large pool was a heavenly temperature and empty through most of our stay. One can walk along the road to Groots restaurant (basic - a bit over rated) and further along to Holetown where there is a supermarket, various shops, a small mall, fuel station and a good selection of restaurants. We experienced really amazing (though quite pricey) cuisine at The Tides, Daphnes, Mango's by the Sea, The Fish Pot, and enjoyable Bajan buffets at The Beach House and atlantis Hotel. These restaurants have lovely ocean settings. A trip to the Earthworks pottery and art shop inland offered an excellent diversion and delicious lunch wraps at the café. We visited the Kensington Oval and experienced a final, national T 20 cricket match for a few pounds - great atmosphere! Most of the island was accessible by bus but we enjoyed exploring in our hire car. Despite some heavy rain in July we were able to lie in the sun every day and would definitely consider returning at this time of the year because of the delightful and peaceful ambiance at Glitter Bay. Would recommend the apartment and location without hesitation.

Glitter Bay is such a lovely property and we love when our guests experience the beauty and relaxing atmosphere that it offers.

The 20/20 cricket was very entertaining - I went to a few games and thoroughy enjoyed them. Kensington Oval has certainly been greatly improved and it makes watching cricket very enjoyable, especially in the Party Stand!

We certainly hope that we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Barbados and of course, to Glitter Bay!

Holetown is just a quick 3 minute drive away from Glitter Bay or a leisurely 10 minute walk away. There is a monument indicating where John Powell landed in 1625 to claim the island in the name of England's King James. It is now a hub of activity with fantastic restaurants, bars, night spots, cafes, shops, boutiques, supermarket, banks, 24 hour petrol and convenience stores, 24/7 medical facility, post office and the list goes on. Everything is close at hand including duty free shopping, VIP cinema and restaurants at Limegrove. You will need your passport and your landing card to purchase duty free items. Except for cigarettes, alcohol and some electronic items, duty free purchases are given to you. Close by is the St James Parish Church which is the oldest consecrated church on the island. Every year usually the first week in February Holetown celebrates with a street festival - activities include free musical and entertainment evenings, car parade and of course great local food!

Golf: Glitter Bay is located close to several golf courses on the island. Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland being the closest ones. There are restrictions for certain periods and subject to change without notification.
