The villa is the highest house in the medieval hilltop town of Penne d’Agenais and has spectacular southerly views stretching from Tournon d’Agenais in the east to Villeneuve-sur-Lot in the west. It is completely surrounded by beautiful established gardens with heated swimming pool and offers complete privacy. The house is stylishly furnished and has a large open plan sitting room with fireplace, dining room, conservatory, games room with table tennis, phone, SatelliteTV ,DVD. and ADSL There are 4 terraces on different levels, ideal for sunbathing and secluded and shaded garden areas . A few minutes stroll and you are in the heart of Penne with its many bars, restaurants and shops. At the bottom of the hill is Port-de-Penne with a supermarket, butchers, bakers, banks and bars. Amble along the river, dip your toes or hire a boat. Alternatively join the ramblers on three famous walks that centre on Penne, one of which is the route of ' St Jacque de Compostelle'.

Penne d’Agenais, meaning Crest, is an old settlement dating from Celtic times. Richard the Lionheart built the fortified Bastide town that we see today, in the 12th century. The Basilica that dominates the countryside for miles around was built in 1896 on the site of a centuries old chapel. The plateau de St Michel is a favoured place for intrepid hang glider pilots to launch themselves into space. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with numerous market towns such as Villeneuve-sur-Lot, 20 minutes away, Montaigu-de-Quercy and Libos. There are chateaux vineyards on the way to Cahors, which can be visited to buy and taste wine. Bergerac is about an hour away, Agen 30 minutes. There is a 18 hole golf course at Castilliones, three riding establishments, rowing on a lake or river, all within 30 minutes drive, or hang gliding if you bring your own kit, within seconds of the door.
