Chalet La Veranada: This unique Punta del Este property is being made available for long weekends, short breaks, vacations and longer holiday rentals and is fully staffed. It is an excellent vacation property for family or adult entertaining and comes with a full staff. This fully furnished elegant gated property is situated in a quiet private established neighborhood and borders with the Cantegril Country Club which is considered, one of the best golf courses in Uruguay. From the Chalet, it is a short walk to the South Atlantic Ocean Beach, Playa Bravo. It is a five minute drive to Punta del Este town center, the marina with its sea lions, fish markets, wonderful dining, shopping and Casino.

Accommodations Summary: This is a safe quiet and secluded family compound with three cozy guest cottages and a main residence that in total can sleep 8 or more with 5 1/2 baths, plus sauna.

The main house and cottages are all furnished and appointed with a light airy décor and a charming ambience in the tradition of the 5 star L’Auberge Hotel located near the property. It is an exquisite property surrounded by beautiful shade trees, gardens, assorted types of flowers including hydrangeas, roses, agapanthus and a variety of ferns, highlighting brick driveways, pathways, swimming pool and sun deck areas.

Accommodations: The main house with thick walls, cathedral ceilings and equestrian appointments has a master bedroom suite with fireplace, TV, a large bathroom and sauna. There is an additional nicely appointed bedroom with full bath and twin beds that is ideal for the grand children. The living room is well furnished and appointed with Uruguayan equestrian art and is dominated by a large fire place. The smaller breakfast room has a wood stove, TV, wireless Wifi and quaint views of the property. The dining room is large with a setting for 10-12 and is dominated by a grand fireplace. Using the large sliding glass door the dining room opens to the outside into a charming brick entertainment area that is covered with wisteria vines and overlooks the pool area and fairways. There is plenty of room to entertain and enjoy the “Parilla” the Uruguayan grille BBQ with feasts, prepared by the staff, swim in the pool and bask in the sun. See our Link to a BQ attached.

The first cottage has a Queen Size bed, a single bed in separate alcove and a full bathroom.

The second cottage with a wisteria vine covered patio has a Queen size bed and a full bathroom.

The third cottage has twin beds down stairs and twin beds up stairs with a full bathroom.

The main house and cozy cottages are all air conditioned and surrounded by well kept lawns, beautiful landscaping and gorgeous shade trees.

Our staff is located on the property in their own private quarters. They maintain the property and are available to cook, prepare a Uruguayan style asado, clean and do light laundry.

The buildings and grounds emote charm and enchantment. You will feel at home with our Uruguayan staff who have been on the property for over 12 years. All rooms overlook the lush landscape and expansive manicured lawns, where privacy and exclusivity surround you. As you enter or exit the brick driveways be prepared to see some equestrians pass by the front gate.

Gratuity to staff is to be paid by tenant.

About Wayne Hilmer Sr

We purchased La Veranada after looking around the world for a second home off shore from the US. We traveled to New Zealand and through out Europe and South America. Uruguay is the best kept secret with a small time zone difference with the east coast of the USA, where our family is located. Our staff lives on the property in their own residence and to us they are like family. We feel very free in Uruguay and love the culture, food, wine and the people. It's very safe place visit.

We love our location and of the many properties we looked over before choosing to purchase Chalet La Veranada we could not find another, in our opinion, as charming, well kept and located within a few minutes’ walk to La Playa beach. From the Chalet it is a walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive to Punta del Este, a 10 minute drive to LaBarra a small beach town community with bikini beach, 20 minutes to the Punta Del Este airport and it is a 30 minute drive along the beach to Jose Ignacio for some of the best horseback riding on the beach.

. The Neighborhood is the most sought after residential area of Punta Del Este, identified by a style edilicio definitely elegant and tasteful. We are located 3 blocks from the beach Playa Brava, the most beautiful and extensive ocean beach in Punta del Este and six kilometers from the main shopping area. We are located next to the Contegril Golf Country Club bordering on the 5th hole behind the property.
