Overview

Quilcene Studio Rental Photos and Description

Studio Guest House on Dabob Bay, Hood Canal, Olympic Peninsula

At the Dabob Bay Guest House You’ll enjoy a beautiful nature escape with rare west-facing views of Dabob Bay, beautiful sunsets over snow-capped Olympic Mtns, and prime shellfish beach. Truly a couples retreat with shared perennial gardens and one of the nicest beaches on Hood Canal. This studio guest home will accommodate 2.

Living Area & Kitchen

The living area and kitchen occupy one side of the studio, complete with a small table, full fridge, stove top/microwave and mini oven. Living area has over-sized chairs for your comfort. Satellite TV/DVD player and mini stereo w/CD player.

Sleeping Area

The sleeping area is separated from the living area & kitchen by a gorgeous antique walnut wardrobe once owned by an Italian Contessa. Features include a full-size lux bed, side tables with lamp, two dressers, a vanity and partial west-facing views of Dabob Bay and the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Here’s where you relax after your day on the beach and capture the beautiful sunsets and western skies.

Bath

The bath is amazing. Although this bath does not feature a shower, the cast iron spa tub with handheld shower head does the job. Above counter sink, granite counter top, hand-made tile floor and heated flooring.

Location

Pristine Dabob Bay is highly sought after for its abundant shellfish and warm clear waters. The trail to the beach can be a work out coming up, but has a bridge over a creek, stairs, and easy natural trail through the woods. The woods open up to the beach which features SAND at the landward edge, then graduates to a more rocky terrain to clam and oyster beds. If you stay during low tides, this beach also has quite a long natural shelf with a very gradual run off – perfect for beach combing and swimming.

*Note: Owner’s family and dogs are on property. Dabob Bay Guest House is a detached Additional Dwelling Unit next to owner’s home. The experience is wonderful, the dogs are very sweet, but we want you to know what you’re getting.

About Jillian Greenwood

Windermere Hood Canal has brought excellence and professionalism to the clients we serve in the Hood Canal area for well over two decades. We had so many inquiries from people wanting to come and enjoy Hood Canal that in 2006 we launched our Vacation Rentals component. We truly love the area and all its amenities. Our home owners are all wonderful people and each has a home with its very own unique attributes.

Guestbook comments from the manager

After arriving, we were greeted by one of the adorable dogs who led us down to the bay - what a character - just adds to the charm! The Guest House is a wonderful getaway. We especially loved the setting, views, jacuzzi bathtub, and beautiful walk to the bay. We'll return for sure! Would love to return for a week-long stay - thanks for everything!

sweet, quiet get away

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time staying in the guest house for two nights. The beach is a short, pleasant walk down a steep, but very well maintained trail, and the view there is incredible. The apartment is very cozy and warm, extremely clean, and well stocked with condiments, kitchen utensils, etc. During the day we explored hiking in nearby areas or along the beach, then returned home in the evening to cook dinner and relax by the gas stove heater. The jetted bathtub is glorious! I am a very picky sleeper, so was especially pleased to find the bed and bedding to be very comfortable. The owners live in the main house next to the guest house. We were aware of them being there, but we never encountered them. Their dog greeted us a few times, but this was always pleasant and brief. She's sweet, well-groomed, and didn't take up a lot of space. Plus, the owners gave very clear instruction to reach out to them if the dog was bothering us. I will definitely recommend this rental for any couple or individual looking for a nice, quiet place to stay on the peninsula. I look forward to returning myself.

Peaceful, Scenic, Comfortable and Very Well Equipped

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place for an individual who wants quiet, private time as I did or a couple who want to spend time together in a great location. The space is very comfortable and in all of my years of having vacation rentals around the world I have never had one that is this well equipped. The owners live in their house on the property and while they are there if assistance is needed, they are not at all intrusive. The border collies are very friendly and delightful. I will definitely return and highly recommend that others do too.

Great Hosts!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have stayed here multiple times. We always have so much fun! The owners have thought of the little details in the guest house - small thoughtful things you'll find (and usually need) in the kitchen and bathroom. Jillian and Brian are very generous, friendly people. Very attentive to guests, they are happy to chat and share a laugh with you, but also will give you privacy if you wish. The private feel of the area is a great get away. We always feel very calm and relaxed. If you enjoy a little hike down to the waterfront, it is beautiful! The Bay here actually is warm during the hot summer months. Absolutely beautiful panoramic view from the beach. You will find shells, sea life, eagles.
