My husband and I, along with 2 couples were excited to rent this house for the New Year. The house itself is great! Big open floor plan, great kitchen, great amenities,( blender, coffee pot, iron, dishwasher, etc), great neighborhood.The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice, with one exception. Be prepared, the beds are HARD as ROCKS. Every bedroom had beds that were very firm, and all of us never slept well.
The advertisement can be misleading. There is no pool AND spa, its just one big spa. That was the best feature of the house. Deep, hot and soothing.
The rooftop patio is great! As was the free wifi, cable TV, washer/dryer and long distance phone.
SOOO, the only reason I did not give this higher stars is this: There was no heat in the house. Now, in the garage was a big furnace. And in the front entry hall was a Honeywell wall unit that led us to believe that there was heat. But nope. Nothing. Believe me, we tried EVERYTHING!!!
So for the three days and very cold nights, the house never got warmer that 64 degrees. I could actually see my breath in the bedroom this morning. That was not ok. The homeowner did not indicate that there was no heat and did not provide space heaters as was indicated in our welcome letter. There was no extra blankets and the only source of heat was a propane fireplace, that after running for 24 full hours, didnt do much at all.
After 24 hours of voicemails and emails to the owner and property manager, we finally got a response back from the PM with a terse apology, an explanation that the owner was on vacation, and that there was nothing she could do! Eventually, we did settle on a acceptable resolution to our unhappy situation.
If you rent this home, bring extra blankets, slippers, some space heaters and a pillow top mattress cover! Overall, the house was great, with a lot of great features. It was just a bummer that we froze in the house the whole time. If we were promised a working furnace or space heaters for the rooms we would rent this place again.
