Ca dell' Artista is a second and last floor facing one of Dorsoduro's most lovely canals (Rio delle Romite). It offers high ceilings with original wooden beams, great views from every window, spacious indoor space, a terrace and a small terrace facing the canal.
It is composed of a spacious living room painted in a Venetian green, a dining area, an open space kitchen, a double bedroom facing a garden with en-suite bathroom with shower, a double with twins and a bathroom with a tub.
A private courtyard is available at the ground floor. It is a superb apartment completely restored (work ended May 2009) to the highest standards to guarantee maximum comfort, space and pleasure.
The apartment was lovely, comfortable, quiet and very clean. Views on Venice could not have been more helpful on arrival and during our stay. Wonderful little eateries close by. Will definitely be returning.
We spent 5 perfect days (4 nights) in Venice, and really liked the apartment.
It's a charming, confortable, calm et very well equiped flat. As a family, it's the perfect way to visit Venice and feel like a venetian.
Many restaurants, bars, food shops all around...
close to the most touristic places but far enough from the touristic crowd !
We'll be back !!
We've just returned from this fantastic apartment - beautifully restored and equipped with absolutely everything you might need for a comfortable stay in Venice. Great location - very close to the main sites - but also quiet and in a location that gives you a good feel for the 'real' Venice. Transport arrangements worked like clockwork and we were met on arrival and also taken to the water taxi at the end of our stay. Little extras, like soap and shampoo - and oil, condiments, cleaning material etc in the kitchen were much appreciated. Very comfortable beds with good quality sheets and towels - and the apartment is so quiet. The local supermarket - Billa - is excellent and we also had a lovely meal in the Ristoteca Oniga in nearby Campo San Barnaba. We would certainly recommend this apartment to others and hope to return on our next trip to Venice. Thank you Filippo!
Our family stayed in this stunning apartment in May 2010. It is in a fantastic location in Dorsoduro, on the top floor of a building that overlooks a nice canal not far from Campo San Barnaba. The location is great - it is tucked away on a quiet side canal far from the throngs of tourists in the Piazza San Marco/Rialto Bridge area, yet it is very easy to walk anywhere in Venice from this location. Plenty of good restaurants to choose from along the Calle Lunga de San Barnaba and two supermarkets within easy walking distance. The apartment has been recently remodeled and is very clean and modern. The master bedroom and living areas are large, open, bright and airy. There are easy to control AC units in each bedroom and the living room, which surely must come in handy later in the summer. Filippo and his staff are attentive and helpful, and they provide a booklet containing useful information on the area (nearby restaurants, shopping, etc.) and review local information with you on a map at checkin to get you oriented. I could not recommend this apartment more - thank you for a great stay Filippo!
Our family of 4 stayed here June 2009. We loved it. The apartment is immaculate, elegant, had a great view of the canal and was very spacious. Great location - easy to reach any place in Venice by foot or canal. Filippo met us (at a very inconvenient time for him) late at night. He was so nice and gracious. Our favorite meal was at Poste Vecie, which was recommended by our gondolier. Our sons loved the Naval museum.
