A CABIN WITH A VIEW

Burnsville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Built in 2011 with a commitment to simple beauty and harmony with its natural surroundings, this cabin was designed by my architect sister with input from our family. With its understated luxury it preserves the delicate spirit of the Appalachian nature and features the work of artists and craftsmen of the Celo Valley.

Our cabin has three bedrooms and a loft and sleeps 6 people comfortably. The large, partially covered deck offers majestic views and cool breezes, even in the summer.

If you want a true mountain experience - with all the luxuries of a modern, beautifully decorated cabin - this is it.

Suitability:

About Lisa Steuer

We live in Charleston SC and Tampa FL and love our getaways to the mountains of North Carolina - especially in the hot summer months. In the fall, the colors are beautiful and remind us of where we grew up in southern Ontario and Bavaria.

Lisa Steuer purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Lisa Steuer chose Burnsville

My husband and I bought our cabin in 2006 and immediately fell in love with the people and surroundings of the South Toe Valley. Five years later we joined with my architect sister and her husband to build this new, beautiful cabin on the neighboring property, so now more people can experience the beauty of this area. We hope you will join us soon!

What makes this cabin unique

Hiking (easy walking or more intense hikes), biking, rock climbing, gem mining, fishing - this property has it all.

The cabin is within walking distance of the Pisgah National Forest. You can walk all the way to Mt. Mitchell and never get in a car.

A great place to vacation!

  • of 5
My family and I had a wonderful time staying in Cabin With a View. The view from the cabin was amazing and the cabin itself was beautiful! We spent lots of time on the deck and appreciated that it was completely enclosed with my 20 month old son running around:) We enjoyed hiking trails that were within walking distance of the cabin. Thank you for providing baby gates for the staircases as well! We enjoyed cooking many meals in a well equipped kitchen. Thank you for a wonderful, peaceful vacation!

GLORIOUS CABIN with View(s) Day AND Night!! Inside and Out!!

  • 5 of 5
Through the front door, you'll walk into a the most amazing great room. The posted pictures of floor-to-ceiling windows are a very accurate depiction! The souring ceilings are... souring. Plenty of room for the amazing-large format art! A simply beautiful setting.

Very, very comfortable seating, both in the living and dining area. All furnishings, bedding, dressers...Everything is Awesome. Kitchen appliances are excellent. The entire home is tastefully decorated. Modern-meets-traditional cabin. New. Fresh. Clean. Bright.

We enjoyed cool evenings on the deck, stargazing at night, and cool mornings with coffee and breakfast on the deck.

All said, Cabin With A View is definitely worth it!! It's nice to rent a first class home that offers care-free rest, and a perfect place from which to experience one of the most beautiful areas in the Eastern US.

The owners are kind, laid back, informative, easy to work with, and make the entire process a joy. We're heading back next year for our 2nd annual NC vacation!

If you're not familiar with with area; start out by visiting the OOAK, One of a Kind Gallery & Studios shop that you pass coming into town. Dozens of local artisan work available, and the staff will give you catalogs of where you can visit other local artists. We spent several hours visiting the historic/still-active Penland School of Crafts--amazing art! www.penland.org

We also had a great time rafting on the Toe River, www.ncrafting.com; the staff was very helpful and kind. The swimming hole at the Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area was great! Mount Mitchell State Park -- fantastic! We hiked up the last 2 miles from the park office up to the observation deck, which is the highest elevation East of the Mississippi River at 6684 ft. Both the hike and the view at the top were breathtaking! Ashville is an easy 50-60 minute drive away from the cabin--and a really fun, creative place to be for at least a half day. Make sure you visit street vendor Victor, at Cate's Hot Dog Stand located on Walnut street!

Enjoy The Views!

Perfection!

Quaint home with modern amenities, beautiful mountain views. The lack of cell service and wifi was the perfect way for our family to escape and reconnect.

Owner's Response: Hi Ashley,

Thank you very much for your very kind review. I'm so glad you all enjoyed your stay in the Cabin with a View and that you didn't have Verizon cell phone service or you might not have had such a perfect family escape. Looking forward to your return visit in the fall.

April Mountain Stay

  • 5 of 5
This is a lovely new cabin located high up a gravel road on one of the ridges of the Black Mtn range that includes Mt Mitchell. Our experience was excellent with no complaints about the house or the owner who was very easy to work with. Furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Views across the valley of the Toe River were lovely. The top of Mt Mitchell was about a 30-40 minute drive out of the valley and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Asheville was a solid 45 minute drive. Several parks with trail and river access are available a short drive down the mtn from the house. As one commenter noted, this house is fairly off-grid with no Internet or cellular access except via Verizon and no landline phone.

It was the best location, beautiful cabin. Center of a beautiful area. Views from every window. On the porch, you could get lost forever. Wonderful fire place. A good place to unwind. I will be going back.

AMAZING EVERYTHING!!!! True descriptions to the Cabin With A View.

  • 5 of 5
I want to personally thank Lisa the owner for being sooooo informative and giving us plenty of options and places where to go. The cabin was AMAZING. If you want everything new and clean... this is a must. This cabin has everything. We truly relaxed by the fire. All the wood was supplied. It was so easy to cook as everything was new, clean and comfortable, and easy to use. We hiked in nearby waterfalls, along the creeks. Just an awesome time. Definitely recommend this serene place to stay at. And we would definitely come back. Oh... mostly importantly, the views were.....+++++++
