This is our most fantastic property - lovingly owned and maintained as our personal family condo. We have celebrated every wedding, anniversary, birthday and graduation here since 1988. Now - we have made the family decision to incorporate it into the estate plan and provide our Mom an income. You can sit on your patio as we have all done...- and watch the sun slip into the sea with your glass of champagne or join the others who line the railing of our gated complex - enjoying the last rays of sun dancing on the water. The surfer's all like to take in the last waves while the sun is going down - seabirds diving for fish - shell seekers - walking the sands looking for those perfect shells for the coffee table. It's all right here just steps from your patio.
We are the original owners of this spectacular beach bungalow - in the smallest and most intimate of the San Miguel's 4 phase development. Phase 1 was built in 1988. There are only 59 condos in phase I and Phase I does NOT allow short term rentals. The shortest stay is 90 nights - per the HOA rules. This particular condo is one of the largest of all San Miguel condo units - boasting 1250 sq feet of space on the end of the building with no one on 3 sides! It has a huge over sized private patio - and views of the pier and beach directly from the main living area. The bedrooms back up to a quiet inner quad away from the street. There are 2 bedrooms - with two full bathrooms - plus an in unit full sized stack set washer/dryer - and a fully equipped and nicely functional kitchen with all appliances including gas range/oven, built in micro, dishwasher/disposal, refrigerator with ice maker.
Our master bedroom has a New SUPER deluxe Cal King pillow top bed - An armoire with inset TV/DVD a large Walk In closet - personal safe - full dual sink vanity, private bath area with tub shower and toilet. The room itself is huge - and has double doors that open to the central hallway. We have Cable TV with DVD throughout the unit. WIFI broadband high speed- and an in room office desk - set up with our printer and modem. Black out curtains drape over the mini blinds in both bedrooms to make a dark room for light sleepers.
Our guest bedroom is the usual size - with wall mounted flat screen - brand new queen bed - dresser and nightstands - mirrored wardrobe.
The living room has a custom sleeper sofa for the guests .. Plus a lovely leather recliner chair for reading and relaxing. Our dining room table is a family antique - with two extra leaves.
The patio has recliners - chairs - table - BBQ (new) - umbrella and more -
Our garage is underground - double gated for added security - and features one large locked storage bin for beach equipment. Plus two parking spaces - dedicated to our unit. Bike storage is available in our shared locked storage rooms.
We carefully decorated it to meet our tastes in soothing pastels - cream, buff, taupe, turquoise. Everything is good quality - because frankly we like quality. We seek gracious guests who will respect the care we have given our home - and enjoy it while we are busy elsewhere.
We have two tiers of pricing - High: June thru Sept and Low: Oct-May. Our rates are based on a max of 4 persons - however additional guests up to the HOA max of 6 are acceptable at an additional charge. This is NOT a monthly rental as only 90 day rentals are permitted in this phase of the San Miguels. We DO offer a discount to Retirees who book 3 consecutive months in any season - and where occupancy is 2 persons or less. Inquire by email. Please note that if you attempt to book for less than 90 days on the automatic booking feature, your reservation will not be accepted.
4-6 month or one year FURNISHED ONLY leases are also avail -and encouraged! at special rates - please inquire!
No Smoking and NO pets permitted.
There is no TAX.
Damage waiver protection insurance required for every rental - max length of lease is 6 months at a time.
No Deposit - no deductible - accidental damage only.

We joined up in 1988 to purchase this property with our parents - and now after 24 years enjoying this for so many family functions .. we are opening it up to others to make their memories in. We love the beach - and we love the location ... it is truly central to all that So. Cal has to offer. The beach itself has fire rings and volley ball courts - public restrooms, picnic areas - a beach playground -outdoor theater and of course our huge public fishing pier - with Ruby's on the end. Alcohol and dogs are both prohibited on this beach.
This is a world class surfing area - check us out on all the surfer websites -world wide. The waves are classic - for short board surfing and boogie boarding. The beach has a couple of different names - but the cross street of Surfrider Way and Breakwater Way can help you locate it in surfing guides.
We are centrally located to all major Southern California attractions, including: San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park, Mission Bay, Aerospace Museum, Legoland, Safari Land, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Temecula Wine Country, Getty Museum, Hollywood, Del Mar Race Track, UCSD, Camp Pendleton.
