Our home is not being rented from December 1 through April 1st. Walk to the water from this newly remodeled four bedroom home. Great views of the lake from two decks and the West Ramp and beach is right around the corner. The living room and dining area have an open floor plan with lots of light and windows. The spacious kitchen has plenty of room to do as much (or as little cooking) as you like and a breakfast bar so the cook will have company. The master bedroom has doors leading out onto the deck where you can sit and have your morning coffee or watch the sun go down in the evening. Down the stairs is a game room with Foosball for those times when you're not on the lake. Three of the bedrooms and one bath are also on this level. Lots of sleeping and lots of privacy make this home a hidden gem.
We love going to the lake for the sunshine and warm weather. We've found the community members here are very nice and welcoming and have become good friends. We are a family from the East Coast (southern NJ) and West Coast (Pacific Grove, CA) and would love to share our home with you.
Lin Ruhl purchased this house in 2005
Our home is one of the closest to the West Ramp and beach. We have a lot of wild life, (deer, rabbits, turkeys, quail, and squirrels) around our home. It is especially nice because there is open land on one side with no other properties and very nice neighbors on the other side. The views of the lake are just so awesome and you're right there next to it! The decks are spacious and enclosed to keep little ones in. Spring, summer, winter or fall, this place is beautiful.
We fell in love with the view from this awesome home. It's just incredible and when you see it, you'll know exactly what we're talking about. Our home has lots of windows to take advantage of this beautiful lake view and across the lake are beautiful mountains. It's light and airy and peaceful. There is a beautiful view from every room. You can walk to the water right around the corner. The downstairs game room has a foosball table and there are lots of games for the family or just the kids to play.
We loved this house..it was perfect for us. We came up twice within a few weeks, once just three of us, next with 11 of us
The owner and manager are first rate..great communication..and we had zero problems.
We will be back!

My family and I always enjoy lake naciamento. We love oak shores because everyone who lives there is so friendly This home was very clean and comfortable. The instructions that were sent for guest parking was a little confusing, but Cindy called be back and answered all my questions.I would love to rent this home again, they make it so easy. We ate outside on the upper patio almost every night and enjoyed all the birds and the deer and the lake view The only down side was all the stairs that you need to climb down to get to the house, but if you have kids let them unload the car for you.
After all you brought them to the lake, right? We also went to the Firestone brewery for a tour( free)and went wine tasting. So there's more to do when not jet skiing or boating.
We had a wonderful 13 days at the Ruhl home. It was comfortable and convenient to the West launch. You can't really walk to the water, but it doesn't matter because the beach area of the launch is a quick walk.
The house has many things that make you feel like home. There are games in the closet and cards in the drawer. All the light switches are labeled. There's a great movie collection. Our kids had a great time.
The neighbors are also very friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
On a side note, I received excellent email returns from Cindy who handled our rental. She was super helpful and quick.
We stayed 5 nights at this lake house. The views of the lake from all upstairs rooms were great. The deck was a great place to BBQ and eat, or have morning coffee and relax with a book. We had up to 7 people during our stay- My husband and I, our two teenage boys, my parents and brother in law. The house was spacious with all bedrooms, except the master, downstairs along with a bathroom and family room. Our boys liked to hang out and play video games, foosball and watch TV downstairs. It was 100-111 degrees (record breaking?) all week and the downstairs stayed cool. The swamp cooler in the kitchen upstairs was a lifesaver. The house is nicely furnished, great well stocked kitchen, clean and nicely tiled bathrooms, and a good layout for many people.
The water level at the lake was a little low, with a steep hike straight down to the lake. I'm guessing the picture from the deck of the lake was taken in winter with a higher water level, but we walked each day down the street to the West ramp where there is a nice beach to put up a shade cover and hang out (fairly level, soft sand, mostly smooth rocks for tender feet!). In the area below the house and decks is an opening that frequently had many deer grazing and lying in the shade of the trees- they were amazing to watch.
Our rental was handled by Cindy at Oak Shores Realty. She was very helpful in answering all our questions and getting us set. We were also contacted by Lin, the owner, and she was so nice and made sure our questions were answered and left a contact number in case we needed something while we were there. I was a little put off by all the rules the Oak Shores Community Association had for staying in that area, but it really didn't end up a problem and everyone we met in the area was friendly and very helpful.
We would definitely stay here again. (for perspective- I don't care for a Best Western or Ramada and prefer a Hyatt or Marriott when we travel- this was a nice place!).
Oak Shores is a gated community located on the north shore of the lake. Situated on 328 acres of oak covered foothills in Central California, Lake Nacimiento is the prime destination for water activities such as swimming, kayaking, wake boarding, water skiing and fishing. Also many local wineries and 60 minutes from Hearst Castle.
