Kevin Masterson purchased this cottage in 2012
The area is very rural and private, yet close enough to the action in the Dells, Portage, and Cascade Mountain. Many guests never leave the property for their entire stay.
We enjoy the solitude and privacy. Observing wildlife in their natural environment is very enjoyable and relaxing. Riverpond allows a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We had a wonderful weekend at the cabin! It's a great space with the water and walking trails! The cabin was even nicer and cleaner than we would have expected. Thanks so much, we'll be in touch again!
This place is great. It's got privacy and a great view as well as a feel of home. I recommend this place to any group.
My adult kids and I came here mainly as a way to share some time together before we all scattered again after the holidays, and it was a perfect place to find some solitude to bake, play cards, hike (although the -5 degree temperatures made the hikes short) and relax with a movie. We hope to come back in the summer when we can take advantage of the pond and river and roast marshmallows over the fire pit!
The river pond cottage is nestled in the woods and positioned right in front of a lovely pond. Looking out at the snowy woods while the fire crackled was so relaxing and fun. The big table is perfect to sit at and eat, play cards, watch for deer ( we saw 2!) or just enjoy a glass of wine and fellowship. Memories are made here. Can't wait to come back in the summer!
The Riverpond Cottage is truly a diamond in the rough! Totally secluded with amazing views. Outside, the snow had just dusted the trees, and walking the paths was a real-life winter wonderland. My kids loved the wildlife from flying squirrels to gobbling turkeys, even saw a couple of mother & baby deer. Inside, the cottage is cozy and clean. We spent hours soaking in the heat of the wood stove and enjoying each other's company in the front room that overlooks the picturesque pond. I can't recommend this cottage enough, and I look forward to staying here again for years to come.
My husband and I took my parents for a weekend getaway for my 30th birthday. The accommodations were wonderful. Both the bunkhouse and the cabin were charming and cozy with all the amenities you could need. We enjoyed hiking on the property, canoeing on the river, enjoying the fires inside and out, and playing cards in the sunroom overlooking the pond. The property itself is very private and beautiful. We also enjoyed hiking at Devils Lake, which was not far. Kevin was extremely helpful and was quick to respond with any questions I had. Would definitely recommend
Although this was not the ideal place to stay for fishing, because of the duckweed on the pond and no pier on the river, the place was clean and in a beautiful area. The large sun-room overlooking the pond is awesome. It's location makes trips to the Dell or Portage easy. Kevin was very quick to respond to our concerns both before and during our trip.
