We have been using Holiday Rentals for several years and this property is undoubtedly the best that we have used.

This was our first time at a property where the owners were in residence and we were somewhat dubious about how this would work out. It worked out perfect. Helen and Joe were wonderful. Two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. They were totally committed to giving us a great holiday, available to help in any way and (crucially) gave us plenty of privacy.

The property is clean, tidy, comfortable and has absolutely everything you need for a great time (correction: more than everything you need for a great time). It was home from home and we were able to settle in as soon as we arrived. Our daughter was particularly ecstatic about the pool (all to herself), the availability of all the Sky free channels on the t.v. and the excellent wifi connection that allowed her access to her friends back home.

Take a look at the photographs of the property. What you see is not what you get. You get so much more especially in respect of the views around the property and the pleasure that you will experience. This property cannot be faulted and gives so much value for your money.

Mijas the town is sensational. Not too quiet and not too busy. Street after street we were amazed at the many shops, restaurants and facilities available. So much to do on your doorstep! We simply could have spent the full holiday in Mijas and never been bored.

We did venture out in the car to other places, getting as far as Antequera to the north and Gibraltar to the south (tip: if going to Gibraltar by car use the car parks on the Spanish side and walk across the border. Cheap buses are available to get you around Gibraltar).

Mijas is in a wonderful central position with easy car access to all the must do places on the Costa del Sol. Even without a car you can get a bus just 50m from the property, and about every 30 minutes, to take you to Fuengirola and onwards to all the main destinations. There are even buses that operate through the night (checkout the 'Portillo' website for bus destinations and fares). Try the coastal train service: fast, modern and not expensive).

If you want to eat English food then you will be spoiled for choice. An Iceland store is available and you can enjoy a self-catering meal for three for less than five euros!!

If you want a perfect holiday of any type then you must book this property. Absolutely Fantastic!!!

FANTASTIC ACCOMMODATION IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION - A PERFECT SPANISH RETREAT!

We stayed at the apartment for a week in March and would highly recommend it (we would definitely stay again!). It is just as described - a beautiful, light & spacious apartment with stunning sea views, and it's own private lawn and patio. Watching the sun rise over the mountains was a great start to the day, and despite the incredibly open views the apartment/outside area wasn't overlooked and felt very private and peaceful. For a 1 bedroom apartment the outside space was very generous and a real bonus; it made it feel like your own private villa!
The kitchen had everything we needed, including a ceramic hob (bonus!), coffee machine and huge fridge. The bed was wonderfully comfy, everything was spotlessly clean and the shower was amazing (rainforest shower head!). There was stacks of towels & linen, plus a separate laundry room & outside clothes hanger. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the pool (the weather wasn't quite warm enough!), but it looked very inviting and a great place to spend a hot afternoon.
Mijas was just a short walk away, with plenty of restaurants, bars and a couple of supermarkets. Although it caters for the tourist market Mijas still has a lot of traditional Spanish charm; a maze of narrow streets lined with postcard-perfect whitewashed houses and is well worth exploring.
We stayed there for a week of mountain biking and found the accommodation & location to be perfect. The trails on Pico Mijas were only a few kilometres away, and we could see a couple of the downhill trails from the patio. The wifi in the apartment was super-fast too, which made it very easy for us to search for trail info... and post photos to Facebook :-)
The owner (Helen), was very quick to answer our queries prior to the holiday, and was there to greet us and show us around when we arrived. She was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. We bumped into her later in the week and she was keen to know everything was OK. It definitely felt as if she was a just a phone call/text away if we had a problem.
Overall the apartment was spot-on and we couldn't fault it! Thank you Helen!

We have just returned from a 5 week stay in this wonderful apartment. It is everything, and more that it promised to be. Well situated, close to village and with wonderful views. LOVELY APARTMENT - RELAXING HOLIDAY

Well, what can I say, what you see with this apartment is not what you get, it's so much more!

The apartment was lovely and clean, very well furnished, in a wonderful location with simply stunning views. All the little touches like washing-up liquid & sponges, powder & fabric conditioner for the washing machine, handwash, kitchen roll, olive oil, etc made this a real home from home - in the sun!

Helen & Joe, the owners, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - Helen provided a very much appreciated 'welcome pack' for us as we were arriving late on a Sunday night and Joe picked us up at the airport, so we didn't have to worry about transfers.

We knew where they were if we needed them, but they left us to enjoy our holiday our way - just perfect.

Mijas itself is a beautiful little Spanish village and everyone we met and talked to was so friendly. The apartment is located just 5 minutes walk from Mijas village square.

We had a lovely holiday, just what we were looking for and we will definitely be back!

LOVELY APARTMENT NEEDS A FEW TWEAKS TO PERFECTION

First of the positives, this is a lovely clean and spacious one bedroom apartment with a fantastic pool and outside space.
Some suggestions when we arrived Helen more or less handed us the key and left us to it, without even coming down to the apartment with us. Which is great in someways as you get the place to yourself but it does have some drawbacks as I will come to later.
The big negative for me on the very first night while enjoying a G&T in the garden , accepting its a semi country location was a couple of rats, while we pointed this out to Helen she said she would get her husband to do something but she never got back in touch with us again. Thought, the rats may have been a one off but when we sat in the garden again a couple of nights later again we saw 2/3 rats running along the wall. They did not come near the apartment door that we saw the interest was probably in the BBQ. This is something that needs to be looked into before it becomes a bigger problem.
The downside of having the house to ourselves and this is a one off concern, but we were there when the wildfires were close to the village and were very aware that had the village had to be evacuated no one would have known we were there as the apartment is under the main house behind gates.
I really liked the house and the pool area etc but because of the rats (and this may be a personal issue) unfortunately it would put me of revisting the house. We stayed further up the hill earlier in the year and did not see any rats. Helen if you can do something about the rats before it becomes a bigger problem the house would be great. May also need to think about contact with people in the circumstances with the fires.

Owner's Response: When you made the Booking you were told that for the 4 nights that you were staying you would be alone for most of the time at the property. Most people would love this as you experience staying in a Lovely Villa all to yourselves.When I hand over the keys I feel that it is not necesary to give a guided tour as this would spoil your own first impressions on arrival. I always come later and speak to guests as was in your case and you were told at the time if you do need something you can knock on the door if we are in or you have our telephone number if we are not in. In addition to this there is a Useful Guideline Information Booklet inside the apartment. When you pointed out that you had seen some rats I was very surprised as they have never been seen by anyone else staying prior to your stay which has been a lot of guests over the years and more importantly us who have lived here for over 12 years. Preventative measures were made without you realising at the time. Incidently no else that stayed after yourselves has seen anything and neither have we. Regarding the Fire: My number One concern is if this would effect the Property and anyone staying. On the night of the fire we watched the fire which was miles away from the property and was satisfied that no one would be effected staying there. We also entered the property that night just incase and saw you Drinking and sitting in the Garden so it didn't seem as you were worried or effected at all so we did not bother as it was late at night. I am glad you liked the the apartment found it lovely and clean and liked the fantastic pool and outside space as you mention in your review.
