This house is perfect for 2 couples! Its great location made trips to Lexington and Georgetown very easy. We returned to the house every afternoon to relax and cook dinner. Handing having both gas and charcoal grills. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking! The only thing missing was a coffee grinders - no big deal. Several evenings were enjoyed around the patio heater. It made sitting out on the covered patio quite comfy. Thanks so much for sharing your house in horse country!!
Great setting, relaxing, comfortable, all you need and more! Lots of "extras" not just the bare minimum like many rentals. Felt like we were visiting a friends home. Owners were very helpful in making recommendations on places to go and places to eat. This was a great girls getaway retreat . . . wish we stayed longer!
We did get into Lexington and shopped around JB Home, and some antique shops. Had a great lunch at The National . . . small menu but all local fresh food, burger, quiche of the day, mimosas, and baked goods. If you are looking for great BBQ go early to Blue Door Station? We got there Saturday at 3:00 to find, they were closed because they were sold out. Friday night we ate at Windy's a short drive to the East of the house. Scallop & mushroom linguini, wines, BBQ pork, open faced sandwiches. Quaint casual atmosphere nice. Stopped in to Blue Stallion Brewing Co. where you can enjoy a beer outside or the games inside. Near 3rd St. and Newtown Pike. We really enjoyed our stay and would consider staying at Pondview Cottage again.
This is a fabulous small house. Excellent proximity to the Kentucky Horse Park. We were there for the US Dressage Finals. The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip bread the owners left us was to die for! :-) 3 adults stayed there perfectly comfortably in separate rooms. Well equipped kitchen, super comfortable living spaces. We would stay again in a heartbeat.
My 3 girlfriends and I loved the cottage so much last year that we returned this year. The cottage is absolutely perfect--very clean, nicely decorated, roomy, and comfy. The covered patio is great for relaxing with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need. The owners have thought of everything. You'll definitely enjoy your stay.
Stayed at Pondview Cottage with 5 of my friends from high school/college. Keeneland is very convenient. The unit is well stocked, very clean, and very comfortable. We will be back for a future visit. Phyllis and David were great to work with.
Very impressed with the cottage, the location, and the owners. The cottage was very clean and welcoming and set in an extremly quiet location. The location was just a few minutes North of Lexington and very easy to travel to. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and made sure we were enjoying our stay. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a quiet alternative to a B&B or hotel and wants to be close to Lexington.
