HOME ON THE BITTERROOT RIVER

Hamilton House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 5-7)

This two-story home is 2,400 SF and features large windows on both levels, offering expansive views to enjoy while sitting or reading. The home was remodeled in 2011 with all new beds, furniture, appliances, 4 flat Screen TVs and satellite television. This home is tastefully furnished to create warmth and comfort. As good as the inside looks and feels, it is the back of the home that sets it apart from other properties. The river is literally just steps out the back door and the panoramic views span the Sapphire Mountains, Bitterroot Mountains and Bitterroot River.

It is centrally located to all the outdoor pursuits the Bitterroot Valley has to offer. Within minutes of the house: Fly fishing the Bitterroot River, multiple National Forest trailheads and a paved bike trail that covers over 30 miles. Within an hour you can be fishing on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River or skiing at Lost Trail Ski Area.

The trip into Victor is short, either on the biking/walking trail, or via a drive of less than 5 minutes. It is a 10 minute drive to Hamilton which offers dining and shopping. Missoula, the home of the University of Montana is just 45 minutes away and is serviced by the Missoula International Airport.

When you return from the day's activities, fire up the BBQ grill or fire pit, sit out back on the patio, watch the sunset over the mountains - there's a good chance you'll spot bald eagles, fox, deer, turkey, and revel in a great vacation. We hope to hear from you soon!

About Owner/Property Manager

I grew up in Montana and over the years I have worked and traveled around the world but Montana remains my favorite place and what I consider home. I am an avid fly fisherman and have always dreamed of owning a vacation home on a river, when I found this home all I had to see was the view of the Bitterroot River from the master bedroom and I was sold. I couldn’t think of better place to vacation where I could walk out the back door and fly fish on one of the best rivers in Western Montana. Thank you for looking and we hope to see you in our guest book soon!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great four night stay at this amazing home. Have rented many places over the years and NONE have ever been this nice in every way. Immaculately clean, totally stocked kitchen with every type pot/pan, baking pans and accessories one could imagine! The furnishings and linens are top notch. Everything worked and lighting in rooms was very good. There were great views of the river and mountains out of each of the many windows. The labels on the switches to tell you what turned on what were appreciated - just every detail was nicely covered. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Owner was communicative when there was a question and with arranging the rental. This was very much like truly staying in someone's HOME, rather than renting a rental... there is a difference to be sure. The listed photos are all accurate but do not do the home adequate justice!

We were there in a month when snow-melt contributes to high, muddy water and not conducive to fishing, but the river access to great fly water is obvious and we plan to be back to test this out! :)

Look no further for the perfect vacation/fly-fishing destination!

We spent four days here in May to attend graduation and immediately knew we had to come back! We have stayed in VRBO rentals in Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, the San Juan Islands and elsewhere, this ranks as the best to date!! The house is IMMACULATE as are the grounds, and set far enough off the highway for no road noise. Everything is well maintained and in good working order, the kitchen is well stocked and needs nothing. As for the fishing, we didn't need to leave the property once! There are so many spots to fish on what seems like miles of easily accessed river (Bitterroot)... The only tough decision was which spot to fish and when. The big front porch was a nightly hit, sitting with a glass of wine and watching the lightening over the mountains! Grocery shopping/Sporting goods are close by in Hamilton or an easy drive to Missoula. More than one evening I was joined on the river by a family of white tail deer. My only regret was deciding to fly and leaving my bicycle at home. I could go on and on, but until you visit words are just not enough! The fishing was so good I'll need Physical Therapy to rehab the tendonitis in my elbow.....
Thank you Thomas and Marilyn for making this wonderful retreat available!

A group of 6 guys from North Carolina spent 7 night at this home and absolutely loved it.... it was so clean I think we could have eaten off the floor...I have stayed in several homes in Montana and I can say without a doubt this home is PERFECT....... well stocked well decorated....very comfortable...great location between Victor and Hamilton...close to grocery stores... fly shops......restaurants.... everything you could possible need or want........ Thomas and his family were without a doubt the most accommodating people I have ever dealt with....... you might pay a little more here but the quality is outstanding and its worth every penny you spend.
If we return to the Hamilton area next year you can bet your boots we stay with Thomas again

Restful retreat

  • 5 of 5
We made a last minute decision to find a VRBO, and we are so glad that we did. This home overlooking the Bitterroot River is a perfect getaway for a family or group of friends. We slept 4 adults and 2 children very comfortably, with room to spare. Each morning and evening we fished or played in the river. The kitchen was beautifully stocked and the home was quiet, peaceful, and perfect. We miss it already. We can't wait to stay again in another season just to enjoy the beautiful mountain and river views. We will absolutely recommend the Angler's Nest to our friends in the future!

Great Place! Lots of room and everything was neat, clean, and well maintained. Lots of activities for everyone to include going to nearby lakes and fishing along Bitterroot River. Very well furnished and Kitchen is Outstanding.. This place is a must for a family vacation. Also, great for relaxation and enjoy nature's beauty in Montana. Not too far from Missoula, MT.
