Local Attractions:
The promenade, El Paseo, has some fine restaurants, specialist shops, boutiques and an art gallery. There is also a salt water swimming pool.
The beautiful secluded Papagayo beach lies on the other side of the marina and can be reached via a dusty road or by water taxi.
Ferries from Playa Blanca make regular trips to Fuerteventura which is only thirty minutes away.
Lanzarote is an island of outstanding natural beauty with wild extremes of landscape. An excursion to the National Park of Timanfaya with its huge volcanic craters and stark lunar landscape is unmissable. On the journey from the airport you will see alien barren landscape and be amazed by the huge craters and lava formations. At the restaurant in the National Park your food can be cooked on a grill using heat from within the volcano. A contrast to Timanfaya is the fertile Valley of a Thousand Palms best seen when viewed from the hills.
Another very popular attraction are Los Verde Caves.
