RIVER HOUSE:

This unique log sided home sits right on the banks of the famous Bitterroot River. It features five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The master bedroom is connected to a fully equipped exercise room with a treadmill, an elyptical and weight training machines. The master bath has double sinks, shower and a large Jacuzzi tub. Guest bedrooms feature queen beds and plenty of closet space. The large kitchen boasts a commercial gas range, large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and landscape windows with river views on two sides. The large harvest table and ten foot breakfast bar will seat all of your family and guests with room to spare. For those evening barbeques there is a screened in porch with refrigerator, built in gas grill and river views. Relax and visit with family and friends next to the wood fire place or at the gaming table next to the picture windows with river views from the living area. A two car garage is available to park your vehicles or store your vacation toys during your stay. River House is especially suited for family vacations, corporate retreats, as well as weddings, graduations and special events.

For the fly fisherman River House is located right on the banks of the world famous Bitterroot River...wade and fish the holes behind the house, or use the property for as a put in or take out point for your rafts, canoes, or drift boats..(all types of watercraft are also available for rent for a nominal fee.) Guide service is also available locally.... Don't limit yourself to one just one river, fish four great rivers in four days! Three other blue ribbon trout streams are all within 1 hours driving time of River House. The Blackfoot, made famous by the filming of the movie 'A river Runs Through It' is waiting 40 miles to the North. The mighty Clark Fork is a is a big, flat Montana fly fishing River that is dominated by 16 to 24 inch rainbows. Again good fishing on the Clark Fork can be had in just 40 minutes. And of course Rock Creek provides an alternative to the 'big river' experience with moose and bighorn sheep and huge salmon flies along with high numbers of hungry trout that eat them. Just twenty miles East of Missoula. Want more...hike to any one of may high county lakes to try your hand at some great cutthroat and rainbow fishing or drop a line in any one of several of the smaller streams that feed out of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness into the Bitterroot valley. Many a fisherman has visited the Bitterroot valley only to return home, sell the family farm, pack up the family, and move here for good!! LOL

River house is just three hours from the West entrance to Glacier National Park and only five hours from West Yellowstone making it the perfect base camp for exploring all Montana has to offer.

Bring your horses! Lush grass paddocks, ample trailer parking, and plenty of water make River House the obvious choice for those equestrians wanting to explore the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness on horse back. Wilderness trailheads are as close as 10 minutes away.

Situated right on the Bitterroot River, it provides the unlimited possibilities for exciting fun days spent fishing, swimming, tubing, nature walks, or just relaxing as the river runs by. Hikes in the nearby Bitterroot or Sapphire Mountains are sure to please with sightings of elk,deer, foxes, and countless species of birds. If shopping is your “bag”, the location of the home is only about 15 miles south of Missoula, where you will find plenty of places to pass the time.

Inside the home every window view is like a painting in itself. Mountains, pastures, the river and 10 acres of lush grounds that surround the home. We doubt you’ll find a more beautiful place in the Bitterroot Valley.

Located within casting distance of the Bitterroot River this home offers Blue Ribbon Trout fishing from the back yard, canoeing rafting and tubing are summer river activities that can be accessed from the property. Three other Blue Ribbon streams (the Clark's Fork River and Rock Creek) are within one hours drive. For those who like to hike or horseback ride access to trailheads leading to the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness are less than 10 miles away. The Rattlesnake and the Welcome Creek wilderness's are within 30 miles of the property. ATV trails abound 15 miles east in the Sapphire mountain range.

Wonderful Stay our Log Home away from Home

I booked the lodge which was 5 minutes away from where my niece was getting married. I am from a large family and all my brothers and sisters were able to stay at the lodge. The 5 bedrooms were perfect for us. My mom ended up staying in the master suite with one of my sisters so Tom brought in a cot for my niece which worked out terrific.
Having the River right there was so relaxing and pretty. We al enjoyed our stay.
The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because there is always room for improvement, being the first rental of the year there were a few little things that needed tweeked. I would definitely stay here again and probably will when my other niece gets married.

Wedding in Montana

We had a group of 11 family members stay at The House. It is such a calm setting and was close to the wedding site. The river was high and fun to watch the jumping fish. The kitchen was such a wonderful surprise as we had to make kabob's for the wedding, Longhorn beef from my brother's place in SD. The kitchen was big enough for us to spread out and get all the work done and still joke around. The other high light was the two spacious living rooms, one with a poker table and the other with a fireplace. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy each others company! Tom was very helpful with any questions we had and gave us an immediate response each time.We have recommended this place to many of our relatives and friends already. The Shack in nearby Missoula was a great place for breakfast.

We enjoyed the beautiful location of this property with our extended family. This house is very nice, but the entrance is only a foyer, with at least 4 or 5 stairs to every level. And definitely not child/toddler friendly. Our only disappointment was the bunk house. We thought it was attached to the main house, it is not and it is just beds, no bathroom.

Every one was very helpful with all our questions and/or needs. This is a quiet secluded property and a totally wonderful place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous river view from every window on the main floor. We especially enjoyed the kitchen/dining area which was the main gathering place for our group - ample room for all.

Thank you for the lovely time in Montana.
