Photos and Description of the Kamilari vacation rental

At the edge of the village of Kamilari (3 km from Minoan palace of Phaestos) on the southern hill Alevotra, the holiday house is situated amidst an olive grove and wild growing herbs and flowers. The elevated location offers a fantastic panoramic view from the Ida mountains in the north to the far back fertile Messara level and the Asteroussia mountains to the neighbouring villages of Sivas, Listaros and Pitsida, as well as the sea at the Komos beach. The villa Kalithea features room (approx. 75 m²) for 4-5 people. Besides a balcony and a veranda each house includes a large, separate garden with private pool. The hedges, trees and flowers between the houses make good blinds to the neighbouring garden. Tranquillity and nature provide relaxation. On our free neighbour property you can lounge under various fruit trees in the shade, paint or just look at the scenery. Enjoy this paradise location of power and inspiration.

Kamilari is a comfortable, small cretic village, which stretches over several hills. The native population is often involved in farming as well as tourism. In the village there are mini markets, taverns and coffee houses. Fresh fruits and vegetables, olive oil, eggs, wine and a whole lot more can be purchased at the small shops in the village. In the recent years more and more of the old stone houses have been renovated. Flat tourism and hotels are not found in this area! It is only 2.5 km from to the beach of Kalamaki. In the east the Minoan palace of Festos is located and it is only a few kilometres to Matala. Again and again it is nice to experience the openness and cordiality of the locals towards the visitors. Frequenters and long time visitors are typical for the village.

Notes: During the arrangement of the house we have considered it to be practical, cosy and typical of the country. We want to offer you the typical “Greek flair” in clean and comfortable atmosphere. The natural stone house has approx. 60 cm thick walls – well isolated – cleanly fettled on the inside. At the exterior we have installed our house in a surrounding of olive trees and many plants of the region: orange trees, palm trees, pomegranate and a whole lot more.

Away from mass tourism – travel individually: The south of Crete is hard to access because of its scenic conditions. Sparse mountain ranges, cliffy banks and many canyons offer the visitor different exploring possibilities. Sole beaches, field paths and olive groves attract many hikers and nature lovers. We will be happy to give you information about destinations at the location.

Olive harvest: We also pursue some farming on the side. Thanasis will be happy to tell you something about our winegrowing, the production of Raki and our biologically cultivated olive oil. From August to September you can go collect wine with us and in January you are welcome to the collegian of olives.

Dies ist schon das 2. Mal, dass wir in diesen wunderschönen Häusern (das 1. Mal war es Haus Rhea) Urlaub gemacht haben. Die Häuser sind perfekt eingerichtet, es fehlt wirklich an nichts (inklusive dem selbst hergestellten Olivenöl!!!!!). Die ruhige Lage mit Blick über die alten Olivenhaine bis zum Meer - einfach traumhaft. Dazu noch die hauseigenen grossen Pools mit Whirpool - was will man mehr..................und dann noch die hervorragende freundliche und hilfbereite Betreuung durch Judith und Thanassis. Ein Urlaub, wie man es sich nur wünschen kann!!!!

Wir waren im Mai 2008 im Haus Artemis. Die Beschreibung im Internet und die telef. Vorabinfos trafen genau zu, auch der Service mit dem Mietauto über die Vermieter klappte bestens, sowie die Betreuung vor Ort. Das Haus war sehr gepflegt und sauber, die Ausstattung prima und umfangreich. Herrlich der schöne große Garten mit Pool, der Ausblick nach Phaestos, der lange (zu Pfingsten) menschenleere Sandstrand (5 min Autofahrt). Wir würden das Haus jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Wir verbrachten mit unseren Söhnen (8/5) einen abwechslungsreichen Urlaub mit Besichtigungen, Strandtagen, Wanderungen (z.B. Rouvasschlucht), sonnigen Nachmittagen am Pool.... Besonders gefallen hben uns auch die kleinen wenig touristischen Dörfchen der Umgebung. Ohne Einschränkungen zu empfehlen. Viele liebe Grüße

Perfekte Ferien

Das perfekte Haus für einen perfekten Urlaub. Sehr ruhig, 5 Minuten (Auto unbedingt erforderlich) entfernt vom nächsten Ort bietet dieses Haus mit Garten und eigenem Pool alles für einen tollen Urlaub. Im Haus fehlt es an nichts. Gibt es doch Wünsche, so findet man im Verrmieterehepaar den perfekten (und das ist nicht übertrieben) Gastgeber. Das Haus ist neu und im Sommer bei 40° aufgrund der Klimaanlage wie gewünscht zu temperieren. Von der schattigen Terasse hat man einen unglaublichen Blick.

Ferien in Kalithea und Rea

Die Häuser von Judith und Thanassis sind zu jeder Jahreszeit herrlich. Im Sommer sorgen die wirklich sehr gepflegten Pools für zusätzliche Erfrischung und im Winter der Kamin.
Die Lage ist wunderschön, die Einrichtung liebevoll und die Betreuung sehr gut.

Traumurlaub auf Kreta

Wunderschön gelegenes Haus mit Meerblick und mit komfortabler Austattung. Alles war sauber und gepflegt; Bettwäsche und Handtücher wurden regelmäßig gewechselt, das Haus und der Pool gereinigt.
5 Min. Fußweg nach Kamilari mit einigen griechischen Tavernen, die sehr gutes Essen und schöne Atmosphäre bieten (unsere Favoriten: Akropolis und Milonas), außerdem 2 Minimärkte, die täglich Brot, Milch, Obst etc. für den täglichen Bedarf anbieten. Die Hausbesitzer Judith und Thanassis sind super nett und hilfsbereit. Thanassis' selbstgemachtes Ölivenöl ist fantastisch! Zum Strand nach Kalamaki Beachsind es 5 Min mit dem Auto, man kann aber auch eine malerische Strecke laufen (40 Min.) oder joggen (ca. 20 min). Dort gibt es jede Menge Standrestaurants, Cafes, eine Bäckerei, eine paar Lädchen. Im Herbst waren die Liegen und Schirme kostenlos
Das Haus ist noch recht neu, sodass der gepflegte Garten leider noch keine großen Schatten spendenden Bäume aufweist. Im Sommer wird man die Schattenplätze suchen; im September / Oktober freuten wir uns jedoch über die Sonne. Aufgrund der exponierten Lage kann es im Garten und auf der Terrasse sehr windig sein; die anderen beiden Häuser sind windgeschützter.
Wir hatten 2 Häuser für 2 Familien gemietet. Die Kinder (Alter 2-11) spielten viel im großen Gärten und Pool; es gibt auch einen kleinen Babypool mit Jakuzzi.
Wir werden bestimmt bald wiederkommen!!
Owner's Response: Danke fr die netten Worte. Das nächste Mal gibt es auch noch selbstgemachten Wein :) und hoffentlich Tomaten und anderes Gemüse. Und die Bäumchen waachsen !!! Ausserdem gibt es natürlich Sonnenschirme.
