Willa and Jordan live and work in Boulder, Colorado. As competitive mountain bikers, we love coming to Crested Butte, and chose the top of the 401 Trail north of town as the place to be married. In 2012, our dream of finding a place in our favorite town became a reality. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

RECENT STAY

  • 5 of 5
The house was in a perfect location, beds were super comfortable, kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We loved all of the recommended restaurants, hiking, and biking trails. The only negative was one bathroom but we got use to it after a few days. We will definitely try to stay here again!

GREAT GETAWAY LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
We had a fantastic stay at Whiterock! Crested Butte is a fun town in any season, and the location of this house can't be beat. Close to everything downtown, but on a quiet, low-traffic street with a great fenced back yard. The kitchen and dining area is sunny and bright and the living room is cozy with the gas stove. The house has the character of an old house but still feels fresh and clean with new furniture, linens, etc. It is an easy place to have a great stay.
We will try to stay here whenever we visit Crested Butte!

EXCELLENT FAMILY HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time staying at this property for an extended weekend of mountain biking and enjoying downtown. Great location only a block from the main strip. The property was well maintained and clean. The owner of the property was a pleasure to work with and provided great value for this size of house in Crested Butte. We have stayed at a few other properties in CB in the past and they were way more expensive for the imenities that we got at this property. We were traveling with our family and our 6 month old daughter. The house is child friendly and having the crib in the master bedroom made our air travel very easy not having to bring a portable crib!! The full view eating area with skylights provided a perfect setting for breakfast in the morning and the cozy living room area with Internet TV provided an excellent relaxing area in the evening. I would highly recommend this property for families or couples that want to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Crested Butte in a wonderful house.

BEAUTIFUL SUMMER VACATION

  • 5 of 5
- Amazing location. It's an easy walk to all activities in downtown area.
- Quiet neighborhood location with views of the mountains from the backyard.
- Very large fenced backyard area with patio, perfect for morning coffee.
- Open kitchen area with plenty of room to seat a houseful. New appliances.
- Most properties have limited parking, but this house has room for at least 3 vehicles off the street.
- Owner provided great resources for planning hikes, bikes, and trail rides. They also had recommendations for eating that was very helpful. You must make one trip to Slogar's Restaurant, which is just down the block. The greatest biscuits and jam there!
- The free city bus which goes to the ski slope has a stop just down the block.

PERFECT BIRTHDAY GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
We loved the location--only a couple of minutes walk to Elk Street for morning espresso and peach pastries. Or some days we made own breakfast and sat on the lovely back deck and watch hummingbirds. The king size mattress was very comfortable and we loved the ceiling fan and open windows at night. Kitchen had all the necessary amenities. Large bathroom with huge tub and separate shower and double sink. We will be back to this great house!

GREAT LOCATION, HOUSE HAS EVERYTHING

  • 5 of 5
This is a darling cabin (even though it looks big from the outside, it's definitely got a cabin-like feel) in an awesome location. My husband, toddler and newborn spent a week here—the baby was with us in the master bedroom and the toddler was in the next room upstairs. We loved the open dining area. There's plenty of storage for bike gear; we brought bikes, a Chariot, the toddler's Strider.
This cabin isn't luxurious in any sense. It's clean and sparse. No TV and the living room is small with furniture that is slightly big for the space. The kitchen's well-stocked. The bathroom is older but clean. The toddler loved the bathtub. We stuck to the shower, which has great water pressure.

There aren't rugs on the hard-wood floors or tile, and our toddler occasionally "wiped out" because he's a rambunctious little guy. He got "owies"—no permanent damage, but just the result of being physical in a house that doesn't have cushy landing zones. He loved climbing on top of the little rock area with the wood-burning stove. In the summer this wasn't a problem, but in the winter you would want a gate to keep little kids from falling into the stove.

The downstairs room with twin beds is tiny and has no closet, but could be fine for teens.

The house needs a few final touches, like a bar to hang coats on in the coat closet and some hooks in the mudroom to keep clutter from the ground. The upstairs windows don't have screens, which concerned me (don't want toddlers falling through them), but I've noticed a lot of CB houses don't have screens. We kept the windows closed, which made it warm upstairs, and then opened them in the night.

When one parent was mtn. biking, the other took the kids to the nearby skateboard park, which offered hours of entertainment for our toddler. We also meandered into town and to all the playgrounds and the Slate River.

All in all this was a practical house in a good location, and Willa and Jordan are wonderful to deal with—they were very up front and clear in their communication. They love mountain biking and are an excellent resource on all things Crested Butte.

Owner's Response: We have purchased a 47 inch LED TV and rugs to cover some of the hardwood floors. We will also install screens for all the windows as well as the necessary coat-hanging hardware next week.
