Newly remodeled, cute, cozy log cabin with modern amenities. 200' of private river frontage. Easy access to the interstate and located between Great Falls and Helena, 5-7 miles to Craig.
Two bedrooms, one bath, sleeps five. One bedroom has twin bunk beds, the second bedroom has a double bed and a pull out in the living room. Big deck off the back for watching the fisherman go by. A new kitchen opening into the great room for convenient entertaining.
A unique opportunity to get the magical Montana experience.
Dan and Suzi grew up watching their grandparents fuel their love of fishing on this property. Thirty years later, with the help of their parents, they are able to use and enjoy the special place once again.
A truly unique log cabin with the canyon views across the river. Privacy yet easy access to everything. Cozy inside with wide pine floors, modern kitchen and a big deck to sit and drink a beer.
You'll never want to leave!
Excellent location for a family or group of fisherman. Wonderful views from the cabin and the drive through the canyon was breathtaking.
A nicely appointed, fully equipped, conveniently located and immaculately maintained home right on the river. It is deserving of 5 stars except for (1) no broadcast TV and (2) I'm not a big fan of bunk beds (All in our group were in our 70s.)
We just spent 4 nights at the cabin while fishing the Missouri. The cabin is located on a nice stretch of the river. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The owners were great to deal with as well.
Character is not something that you can just have. It is something built over time. This cabin in one of the most beautiful spots in Montana with a churning river and mountain views is full of character. From the exposed beams to the wood burning stove you will feel like you have stepped back into a time when life was less hectic, yet it has all of the current amenities that a person could want in a week or weekend getaway. Make sure to take time to look at the wonderful art piece depicting the story of grandpa Tague.
Upon walking into the cabin you will be surprised by the large and open concept, great for cooking a meal as a group and reliving your fishing adventures from the previous day.
Waking up with a coffee and sitting on the deck watching the birds and deer from your view over looking the Big Belt mountains and the Missouri river will calm the nerves of the most high strung professional. It is a small slice of paradise for those looking to unwind after a long winter.
Communication with Dan and Suzi was beyond excellent, and they truly went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed every minute of our stay.
As a fishing location, there is no place better. Only a 6 minute drive from the fly fishing mecca of Craig, it is ideally situated in the middle of one of Americas premier blue ribbon trout fisheries. You are no more than a 15 minute drive from the furthest launching point and only a couple of minutes away from the numerous take outs. Easy access from Great Falls or Helena makes this the perfect location for a quick boys weekend or week long family getaway.
I hope you enjoy this property as much as we did.
All in all, this was a great place to stay. Nice location half way between GT Falls and Helena and right on the water and the cabin was just as listed with lots of rustic charm. The weather was hotter than expected (could have used an extra fan). Fishing slow in front of cabin probably due to hot weather but location good for trying other areas and even went to another river--try the Dearborn. Cabin well furnished, including a great kitchen. Back balcony great to sit out on to relax and bird watch--eagle, osprey and white pelicans.
We had a 3 1/2 year old with us and the front and back lawn areas were great for kicking a ball, flying kites and playing frisbee. Neighbor Jim even took time to mow it so it would be easy for him to run around on. Bushes between river and lawn for part of the yard made it more secure to let him run around.
Owner's father stopped by to check in and the neighbor Jim was very nice also, even offered to take us floating on the river. Great place to stay. We were here for a family reunion in Helena and several family members stopped by and thought it was great also. (Suzi, expect to hear from our niece from Billings.) Some of them were kayaking and thought our cabin had great access to put in One nephew was on crutches so the lawn approach worked out great. A+++ from us, very nice of this family to share their vacation home.
The logcabin is exactly as described: a 'Fly Fishermans Paradise' in all its aspects. It is a nice, clean and well maintained property and the fishing on the Missouri, during our stay, was outstanding. Also before the booking and during our stay we had a first class support from the owners. Maybe we where just lucky, but it was great to find a lit stove and a heated cabin after a cold and rainy fishing day. I can recommend this logcabin to every flyfisher. It is a perfect location for 2 fishing buddies. For advise and help concerning the fishing on the Missouri you need only one address: Headhunters in Craig!
