Monte Alentejo is new this year and offers an exceptional standard of accommodation - from 2010 it will have a private swimming pool. Two large ensuite bedrooms with loft style living area and art gallery; modern,fully equipped kitchen area with espresso coffee machine. A third double suite can be available on request in a seperate house. Relax looking over the uninterrupted views of the oak forest through 9 metres of open sliding glass. For 2009, an almost private 16 metre heated swimming pool with childs' play area and in water table and bench is shared with us - but you will think it is your own. Table tennis. The property has its own natural spring (the water was believed to cure back problems), an old well with vegetable garden and megalithic anta. With 13 hectares of land to explore leading down to a river, there are many places to relax, enjoy the peace, walk or have a picnic without a car journey. A 'loft style' individual house with 2 ensuite bedrooms Open plan living area with sliding glass door, fully equipped modern kitchen fully equipped for easy self-catering. Large dining table and sofas inside. Private terrace stretches along the whole front of the house, then the swimming pool; both overlook the valley and hills with far-reaching views - at night the lights in the villages twinkle, during the day it is just endless. Outside dining table and relaxing chairs. 48' flat-screen TV with home entertainment system for DVD's, ipods and UK Freesat viewing. The property is accessed through electric gates, our house is on the left, Monte Alentejo on the right of the drive. Set in 13 hectares of Alentejo oak trees, some olive trees, a well, spring and anta.

Within walking distance of the historical village of Pavia with 4 restaurants, 3 mini-markets, bars, chemist and bank. The UNESCO world heritage city of Evora at 40km has many historic sites, restaurants and shops. Estremoz, also only 40km away, is an historic city famous for its Saturday morning markets for antiques and fresh local produce. At Mora, is the history of the river museum and river fishing. Three large lakes - Aquelva (the largest dam in Europe) is one hour. Monte Selvagem wildlife park at Monemor. Lusitano horses at Alter do Chao. Go-karting near Evora. Countryside walking, cycling and horse riding. Long sandy beaches, between one and 1/1/2 hour drive - Comporta has two fantastic beachfront restaurants and miles of beach. Variety of vineyards to visit for wine tasting. Arraiolos, famous for handmade carpets and O tapete na rua festival. Golf club with 2 x 18 hole courses approximately 40 minute. Just over one hour away is Lisbon - museums, restaurants, shops.

Notes: There will be a private swimming pool in front of the house for the 2010 season; for 2009 the heated swimming pool is shared with us 40 metres from this Monte Alentejo, within the same land and enclosed for security. However, you will feel that this pool is for your use only The land goes down to a river approximately 500 metres from the house; access is possible in places but the river is in a rocky gorge. There are 13 hectares of woodland (montado) to explore in which there is a Roman well, a natural spring and an anta.

Fantastic house
Very clean and aired. Exquisitely decorated.

Astonishing view:
For romantic days or just to get away from stress and daily routine - very peacefull and quiet.

Owner:
Very nice, available and discret people.

Easy to get there. Explendid restaurant in the Villa. Lots of places to visit around.

Boutique retreat experience!

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your new boutique retreat house. After a two hour flight from London Heathrow and approx one hour drive to our destination we were delighted to be staying in the Monte Alentego. The property is immaculate, very well equipped and ideal accommodation for couples/families. The owners were very welcoming and recommended places of interest to visit and restaurants etc. We enjoyed walks in the grounds, meals in the village and relaxing by the pool! Would certainly recommend this property and location and look forward to a return visit very soon!
