Anne has been coming to the Northport area since she was four months old! Greg came to love the area when he discovered bicycling, birding, and kayaking. Both love the peaceful atmosphere of the town, with walking access to all amenities one wants in a vacation spot.
We fell in love with this cottage because it is filled with sunlight and the sparkle reflected from the clear waters of Northport Bay, which is visible from the back deck, front yard, living room, and several bedrooms. The hardwood floors and clean lines of the interior appeal to us. With four bedrooms and a queen fold-out sofa in the family room, there is lots of room for guests.
My group and I were beyond pleased with our stay. GREAT location and everything we needed. I spent the week there and was so relaxed. Very clean and comfortable. Location was amazing- walkable distance to the market and many yummy places to eat. During the weekend Friends came up to attend a wedding that we could also walk to. Would love to book again- Northport is very special. The hosts were very friendly and the owners were always available.
My family has spent the last two years vacationing in this home. We fell in love immediately. The home is absolutely amazing. The kitchen is huge and can accommodate large families and guests. My two children love the beach that is just 50 yrds from the front door. I can't say enough about this place. My family will be vacationing here for years to come!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. Plenty of space for our family of five. The kitchen was very well equipped and the kids loved the toy room. We also enjoyed being able to walk into town each day. We would definitely stay here again.
We rented this home for our daughter's wedding at the Willowbrook Mill and were so pleased! The bedrooms and 3 full baths are spacious and nicely done. The kitchen had all the items you could need and the home has beautiful windows all around and even a toy area that our two young granddaughters enjoyed. You can see the bay from the front of the house and from the master suite. We had never been to Northport prior to planning the wedding. It has a great small town feel, yet has numerous good restaurant options and some great shops - all within walking distance. You will love this house.
We recently stayed at the rental for the weekend of my daughter's wedding in Northport. We were extremely pleased with the rental house! It looked very nice online, but sometimes pictures can be misleading. It far exceeded our expectations. It is a very beautifully renovated home, very comfortable and clean. It has been nicely furnished with some awesome antiques, beautiful wood floorings, etc. The friends that stopped by to visit, mentioned how nice it was! The location was ideal for our needs as the wedding took place a few blocks away at a local church and the reception at "The Willowbrook Mill" just a couple blocks away. Northport is an adorable town with the convenience of a small grocery store within blocks and a few nice restaurants, etc. close by. I would definitely recommend this rental property!
This home was everything we expected, and more! The home is perfectly situated between the water and the town of Northport. We were in town for a friend's wedding and needed a place for 3 couples, 1 single guy and our newborn baby - - this place was perfect! Four spacious and well appointed bedrooms along with 3 full bathrooms, an updated kitchen and great common space - - no waiting to shower/get ready, no cramming into small spaces, and no disappointments. Several friends were renting nearby cottages and stopped by to take a look - - they all left wishing they had found this cottage first.
None of us had been to Northport before, but I'm guessing we will be back. While it's a hike up the peninsula from Traverse City, you are rewarded with the quaintness and charm of the town. The water is beautiful, the town has everything you need, without being a tourist trap, and the wineries and casino are only minutes away.
If I have to gripe, even if only for the sake of legitimizing my review, I would say that I wish the hot tub on the back deck was either gone or in working condition (I did not book the cottage anticipating a hot tub, and the owners informed me it was not functioning prior to my arrival). Northport has cool evenings, and the sight of the hot tub is tempting - - but so is a trip into town or a drink with friends. All in all, this place was excellent - 5 stars!
Northport is the northernmost town on Leelanau Peninsula. Home of Barb's Bakery, famous for its donuts and cinnamon twists. A peaceful village with a golf course, several galleries, coffee shops, bars and restaurants, Northport has easy access to the shops, galleries, wineries, and restaurants of Leland, Omena, and Suttons Bay. It has a full-service grocery store with meat counter, fresh fruits & vegetables, alcoholic beverages, etc. On Friday there is a fabulous Farmers' Market in the Marina parking lot on the waterfront adjacent to the Park. Cottage is walking distance from the Willowbrook Mill event space.
