Holiday in May
My husband and I and my mother (88 yrs) had a very relaxing holiday in villa Baba. Except for sleeping in the house, we spend most of our time outside, around the pool, or making tours with our rented car or going for hikes.
We were a bit surprised how English the neigbourhood, the restaurants and the close surroundings were. Nothing wrong with that, but coming all the way to Cyprus we went looking for true Cypriotic food and ancient villages. As soon as we went into the mountains, we found what we were looking for. In the guestbook we wrote some tips, like walking to Bellapais, visiting an Armenian village with beautiful local food or drinking coffee with very hospitable men who play games all afternoon. I hope the women do the same ;-)
Christine, the caretaker lives down the road. She helped us out in the beginning with candles when there was a powercut for an hour. Also we went looking for her when there was no waterpressure or when we had trouble getting hot water. These were minor problems. It might have helped if there was a small guide in the house for these kind of things because the solution was in both cases just a switch.
For those traveling light with Ryan air: books and guides are available in the house.
All in all we had a really good holiday, good beds, nice kitchen, so much space and o, what a lovely pool! We miss that everyday.
