Photos and Description of the Golden vacation house rental

Equidistant from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the Nordic Ski Centre this custom built timber-frame home is perfectly located for you and your group to enjoy all that the mountain has to offer. There is plenty to do year round for the outdoor enthusiast, or if you just want a relaxing week to unwind take advantage of the modern luxuries located throughout the home.

In the winter months a very short walk up the hill and you can strap on your skis and ride down to the gondola in minutes. For avid cross country skiers the house is very close to all the trails so just hop in your car and you can head towards the Nordic Ski Centre.

All three bedrooms have split kings (king beds that can be converted into twin beds). For additional sleeping needs, there is a pull out couch in the master bedroom and on the lower floor. In total, eight people can sleep comfortably.

On the top floor the oversized master suite enjoys a sitting area, gas fireplace, large flat screen TV, bluray player, cable TV and next to the bed there is a sound dock for your iPod. The granite detailed en-suite spa bath is accessed via the walk through closet. A small balcony and a large picture window complete this private and luxurious top floor retreat.

Should you need it, there is a small study located just off the master bedroom allowing you to set up your laptop to catch up on emails or check ski reports. There is also wireless internet throughout the house so please feel free to setup in other locations.

The main floor enjoys soaring ceilings, has a spacious fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. A large square dining table easily seats eight people. The living room has amazing views, cozy couches and a large wood burning fireplace. Just off the living room there is a large wrap around deck with a gas BBQ, perfect for the summer months. A sound system with CD player and iPod dock allow you to enjoy your own music by the fireplace. Relax with a glass wine, your favorite book and watch the snow fall outside or open the doors in the summer months to feel the nice mountain breeze.

Located just off the main floor through the kitchen there is a mudroom to put your wet clothes, along with a full washer/dryer combo and a half bathroom. This room has heated flooring allowing your clothes and gear to dry quickly. The garage also has heated flooring and racks to put your skis.

On the lower floor there is ample space in the media room with a gas fireplace and a wet bar area. The two other bedrooms can sleep four in split kings. There is also a queen sofa bed in the media room and a full surround sound system with a large flat screen TV, bluray player, Playstation 3 and an iPod dock. A large second bathroom with double sinks, separate shower, bath tub, granite counter tops and heated tile floors make for a spacious and comfortable area to unwind after your day on the hill.

Don't forget the hot tub which is accessible through the double doors in the media room downstairs.

This complete home perfect for all seasons leaves you wanting for nothing.

I went to Golden and Kicking Horse Resort back in 2006 on what was supposed to be a one off trip. I was so taken with the place that I started building my house in late 2007!

Having extensively traveled the world I still find myself yearning to get back to my 'home away from

home'.

This truly is a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. From Skiing in the winter months to golfing and hiking in the summer, there is something for everyone and you don't have to put up with the crowds of some other year round ski resorts.

I have taken immense pleasure in building what I consider to be one of the most unique and enjoyable homes on the mountain.

The resort boasts some of the best skiing, some of the best hiking and plenty of other adventure activities too numerous to list here. Unlike other over crowded ski resorts Kicking Horse allows you to enjoy and explore the area without feeling like you're in a tourist trap.

The house is perfectly located for ease of access to the resort and the Nordic Ski Centre. The views of the Selkirk Mountains from the living room and master bedroom are simply breathtaking. Throughout the home no expense has been spared on modern amenities.

This house was absolutely beautiful, the structural design with its excellent floor plan and decorated very nicely, it was so cozy and comfortable...a home away from home!! We had a fun and relaxing time and would highly recommend this rental property to family and friends.
