The Black Forest does also offer a wide range of outdoor activities such as gentle walking and cycling to more energetic hiking and mountainbiking to name a few. In fact there are over 30000 km of well signposted walking and biking trails for every level, leading through unspoilt, deep green stretches of woodland, magnificent landscape and historic towns.Black Forest is a true all year holiday destination. Its mild spring characterised by the cherry blossom season, is followed by long warm summer, where one can enjoy an idyllic walk through meadow landscapes or just relax in the shade of the forest or on one of the many lakes, rivers or brooks nearby, or enjoy the many watersports available. Black Forest Activities - winter :
The Black Forest offers both Alpine & Nordic skiing. The highest mountain in the area is the Feldberg. Feldberg mountain’s winter sports centre has a network of 14 ski-lifts and 16 ski-runs. The skiing levels start from the easy family ski run to the more challenging FIS World Cup ski run.
With 28 of the latest ski-lifts and well-prepared slopes, the Feldberg lift network and its surrounding ski areas form one of the most important winter sports centres in southern Germany. The modern chair ski lifts can carry more than 24,000 people an hour. As well as the skiing slopes there two kindergartens, a snowboard fun park, free-ride runs and a choice of restaurants in the Feldberg ski winter sports centre. So don’t forget to bring skis or snowboards in winter
It is thought to be one of best locations for cross-country skiing in Germany with over 600 miles of skiing trails and some of them are lit at night. Feldberg has a 75-mile skiing trail in the Black Forest Germany.
