What a great place to stay in Tucson! Charmingly decorated, super location, and thoughtful touches that make for a wonderful stay. The house is roomy and well appointed with extras like soft fluffy robes for chilly mornings or after watching sunset from the hot tub. The den is spacious with lots of room to spread out to read or watch TV. In the roomy kitchen we found all sorts of useful things; clips and rubber bands, flashlights, and so on, all neatly arranged. Bathrooms are spacious with roomy counters and cabinet storage available. Having a garage to park in is so nice and having a garage door opener made that so convenient.
Located in a very quiet and convenient location in the Foothills, you are close to great restaurants.
We enjoyed several of the restaurants in nearby La Encantata mall. Be sure to visit Armitage on Monday for half price everything. Also there we tried Ra (just missed Happy Hour) and North, both very good. Nearby was Acacia which is the place to be for the view of sunset during Happy Hour. We can also recommend Wildflowers where we had an amazing hamburger (shared, as it was huge) and a seasonal Market Salad which was great. In between we picked up things from AJ's, Trader Joe's, Basha's, or Safeway grocery stores -- sometimes prepared dishes and sometimes things to prepare at the house.
We hope to return to do more hiking for, once again, going to the Tucson Rock and Mineral shows consumed most of our time. We spent a few days hiking in Sabino Canyon and Pima Canyon which are nearby. Ventana Canyon and Finger Rock, also nearby, will have to wait for another trip. What should have been a third day of hiking turned into an unexpected snowstorm and so we visited galleries and shops instead. Loved the proprietor at Dark Star Leather, Toyo Gillman, who is creating custom belts for us.
There is so much to see and do in Tucson, our visits are never long enough. The next trip will be planned around staying in THIS home. I love the mountain views, and the sunsets, too.
