The Square Mile in which the Apartments are located is one of the most important financial areas in the world - so it has the highest security and is the safest and cleanest place to live in London. Around the corner to the affectionately named 'Ghirkin' This square mile was once the original city of London before it expanded and a monument remains to mark the start of the fire of London. See London from the top of St Paul's Dome, or the top of 'Monument' a site built on the exact place the great fire began. All of Sir Christopher Wren's greatest architecture are here. Walk to Museums of; Bank of England, Charles Dickens, Museum of London, War Museum. An eclectic mix of old and new, the City is a truly fascinating place to be. 2 minutes to the Tower. Some adverts say 'Tower Bridge Area', but always check the google map and the nearest tube should be Tower Hill !

    This is only an increase of £10 per night. I have researched other apartments and hotels and this is still an incredibly competitive rate even if it was not Christmas!

Your Neighbours/The Building: The building is a mixture of holiday rentals (10) and full time residents. The residents mostly bought the apartments because they work in the City and then alot leave at the weekends, some stay. They are professional city workers, clean, quiet and responsible. You can read this in the guests comments.

Other Activities: Major Starting Point for all London Guided walks are at Tower Hill Tube - just around the corner.

Let me start with the best part and that was the help that Karen offered us before and when we arrived. Good directions to get from Hearthrow to the flat. She also gave us good tips on where to shop for groceries and things to see. Black Friars pub (Karen's suggestion) is a must.

My daughter's fantasy wish was to visit London, so for her 18th birthday we flew to London and rented the Tower Bridge apartment in Marlyn Lodge on Portsoken Street. Very quiet area and safe. Starbucks at the end of the block if you have to have a piece of the USA. Nice restarurants in the area. Very easy to get to from Tower Hill tube station.

The flat is not fancy but very clean and nice. We had maid service every day. Comfortable bedroom and nice living room with Sony flat panel TV and cable. The 3 of us had adequate space. The kitchen is nice and saved us a lot of $ as it is expensive to eat out in London.

Would certainly recommend this place for location, comfort and value. Thanks again Karen.

The apartment was exactly as described and a great value for the price. It was clean, with plenty of fresh towels in the bathroom, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, full kitchen and clothes washer (but no clothers dryer). Cleaning service was there every weekday morning. The neighbors were all very quiet and I believe that the neighborhood in general is quiet although, during our rental time there was some construction going on that did not allow one to sleep in late. It is close to the Tower Hill underground station and easy walking distance to the Tower of London. I would be happy to stay there again in the future and would recommend this property to a friend. It is not fancy but is clean and comfortable, with plenty of space and a very good price.
