Overview

Brinnon House Rental Photos and Description

Hood Canal Waterfront view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt Rainier, and Mt Baker.

This Hood Canal vacation rental is a wonder to behold: Olympic National Park at your back door, and the Dosewallips Wildlife Estuary right in front. You'll see many birds native to the Pacific Northwest including bald and golden eagles, heron, geese, ducks and more. Orca whales, seals with their pups and river otter frequent the waters in front of you and from time to time the Brinnon Elk herd may visit the yard.

A new six-person jetted spa overlooking the water allows you to take it all in while relaxing in warmth and comfort. Large upper and lower decks provide a sweeping view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. Private stairs to the beach with a large dock allow you to play, swim, fish or take the provided canoe out for a ride. At low tide, approximately 29 acres of previous oyster farm is available for the picking; and plump juicy oysters are wonderful done on the grill!

Just a short walk down the road is the famous Geoduck Restaurant Lounge, voted #2 'Best Bars in the U.S.' by Esquire Magazine.

The just-remodeled home boasts an amazing 2,830 square feet of beautifully appointed living that can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. The master bedroom stretches across the entire top floor of the home in a loft style. Additionally, we have outfitted the main floor with an upgraded queen-size sleeper sofa, and we offer a folding-style crib for those traveling with little ones.

We are remodeling a second 5 bedroom home in Brinnon. That new home is called Seal Rock and is 3 miles away from Nature's Paradise. The home sleeps 14 people comfortably in beds and is 3000 square feet. The dining room table seats 12 with 12 matching chairs. The Seal Rock home will be modeled after Nature's Paradise in amenities. Reservations will be starting May 1st, please call the owner Tammy for more information or to make a reservation.

About Tammy Kreger

My husband and I bought this home in 2003 for the purpose of retiring early and living there. We're not ready to retire quite yet, and decided that we would really like to share this lovely home and the surrounding beauty with others!

I am proud and happy to say that I have lived in the Puget Sound area my entire life. One of my favorite pastimes is traveling. I have visited every continent, 60 different countries, and taken 37 cruises (so far!). Because I have spent so much time traveling, I truly have a good understanding of guests' needs and wants.

Even though I am happy to have seen so much of the world, I am always grateful to return to an area as gorgeous and diverse as the Pacific Northwest. I could choose anywhere in the world to retire to, but I have chosen Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal for many reasons. Once you have visited this area, you will see why!

Tammy Kreger purchased this house in 2003

Why Tammy Kreger chose Brinnon

I chose this particular property because of the outstanding sweeping view of Hood Canal and Dabob Bay. There is also a great view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

My husband and I are big seafood fans and love all of the wonderful shellfish available to pluck from our beach. We also like to take advantage of the private dock for setting out to shrimp, crab and fish.

We can't imagine a more beautiful environment to vacation in. It truly is 'Nature's Paradise!'; so we hope you'll come and enjoy it for yourselves!

What makes this house unique

The 29-acre privately-owned beach is covered in the tastiest, most plump oysters on the canal (this particular area used to be an oyster farm). The tidelands also have many species of clams including butter, horse, and geoduck clams. Some of the best dungeness crabbing can be done directly in front of the home.

You are welcome to take the provided boat off the dock and put some crab pots in it to take out.You can simply paddle out a short distance and place the pots for fetching later in the day. My husband and I do so and catch our limits easily! Some of the best Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp are also caught in the waters in front of the home.

It is also fascinating to watch the nuclear submarines practice in the waters out front of the home 2 or 3 times a week. Bird watching is another fun and relaxing experience from our 1,600 square-foot upper and lower decks, and from the dock.

Often I enjoy watching the Brinnon Roosevelt elk herd graze in the Dosewallips pasture lands right from my decks. Sometimes the elk actually come to my yard and graze on my landscaping!

Fabulous Family Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time staying at Nature's Paradise! The views were breathtaking, the hot tub delightful, and to top if off the home was perfect. We visited in April so we enjoyed puzzles and games in the light filled main room during spring showers and enjoyed near by hiking and the Dosewallips State Park when the sun was out. Nature's Paradise was the perfect getaway for extended family because it is so spacious guests have plenty of room. We enjoyed family dinners around the grand dining room table. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to make a family dinner. Additionally, Nature's Paradise was very welcoming to our family dog. She loved the dog bed under the stairs and the dog treats from the guest basket. We plan on staying at Nature's Paradise again. Hopefully in the summer so we can enjoy the deck and the boat more. Thank you!

Nature's Paradise was just that!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place for our family getaway with our grown kids and grandkids. There was something for everyone. The clams and oysters were remarkable and provided hours of fun for all. We had a 5 star seafood meal right off the beach. All the tools and the boots were perfect. Plenty of room for all to have privacy as well as great family times together. A table large enough for us all was a special treat. The kitchen had everything we needed. The late nights in the

hot tub with a glass of wine were perfect. The eagles and water foul were a beautiful sight. Thanks so much for providing such a special place to celebrate the beautiful natural setting and the joys of our family.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a wonderful little get-away!

We went out Nature's Paradise on the Olympic Peninsula for a long weekend with another family... 4 adults and 6 kids spent 4 happy and comfortable days in this home. We had everything we needed to make it a wonderful mini-vacation. The boots were priceless for exploring the water's edge...what a wonderful thing for you to have available for us. The boats made it possible for us to explore the sandy areas during low tide. What a treat to be followed and spied on by so many seals! We had the opportunity to see bald eagles (within about 20 feet of the house), herons, seals, sea otters, and many varieties of water fowl. The interior spaces were flexible and the rooms upstairs were big enough for kids in sleeping bags to be on the floor since our kids are younger and wanted to be close by. We lost power one evening and stayed comfortable and warm by the wood stove. If you have clear weather, don't forget to look up at night... the stars don't look quite that spectacular here in the suburbs!

Thank you, Tammy!

Owner's Response: We were pleased to hear that your family had such a wonderful time at Nature's Paradise. We have a boot box on the lower deck with about 25 pairs of rubber boots in many sizes for our guests to wear to explore the vast tidelands and estuary. I think you can understand why we named our home Nature's Paradise with the abundant marine life, bird life, oysters, clams, etc. The stars are fantastic and bright at our remote waterfront home on the edge of the Olympic Nat'l Forrest. We will be looking forward to welcoming you and your family back for your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

Beautiful location!

This is a great place to stay right on Hood Canal. When we arrived there was a care package for us with s'more makings, popcorn and a speical little package for our dog! The house itself has tons of space with 3 levels. The kitchen had everything we needed. There are lots of boots to borrow to go clamming. We took the canoe out a few times which was a lot of fun. The state park near by has a nice area to hike and the Rocky Brook waterfall is beautiful. The stairs to the beach are a bit steep so be careful and our dog cut her paw on the oysters shells - no fault to the owners, just a heads up for anyone taking their four legged family members. We had a great time and would love to come again!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that your family had a wonderful stay at our home. It is fun to prepare clams, oysters, and other fresh seafood right at the house just picked or dug from the beach. It is fun to explore the Dosewallips estuary by canoe or by walking on the beach. We supply life jackets in many sizes for our guests. There are so many wonderful hikes very near our home. The "secret waterfall", is fun to visit and enjoy. We will look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

A Gorgeous Surprise

  • 5 of 5

Several friends and myself stayed at Nature's Paradise over NYE. The house was beautiful, well maintained, and homey. The atmosphere of this place was just so relaxed that my only regret was not booking another couple days. The accommodations were exactly as described and in most cases better than I had anticipated. I couldn't get enough of the view (telescope and binoculars provided by the owners!) and luckily we had sunny days the entire stay. Oysters were a plenty at low tide and they also provided all of the necessary gear to go digging around out there, even headlamps. A few of us managed to stay up the entire night NYE and saw the one of the most spectacular sunrises I've ever seen. As soon as we got back to town, several people in the group were already hashing out plans to come back. I'll definitely be returning in the future.

The property owner was very quick to answer any and all questions. I even received a hand-written thank you letter from her which was really awesome. Through the whole process of booking, coordinating, all the way to the end-- amazing customer service.

Thank you from all of us!

Owner's Response: We are so pleased that you and your friends enjoyed Nature's Paradise for your yearly friends get together for New Years Eve. It is fun to go down to the beach and pick oysters, dig clams, and explore the Dosewallips estuary. It is also fun to use the head lamps that we provide and explore after dark. Sunrises are vibrant, fantastic, and consistent. We can't wait to welcome you back for your next stay. Thanks again, Tammy

Girls Reunion in the Most Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house out for a weekend girls reunion a few weeks ago and it was perfect! The views from the porch were incredible, and the stairs down to the beach was perfect for walks and watching marine life in the distance. Earlier in the day we walked along the beach, and even though the tide comes up later on to cover the beach, we were able to go down the stairs to the dock to watch the sunset. It was gorgeous. The house slept 8 of us perfectly and we really enjoyed the big kitchen table where we served our home cooked meals while enjoying the view. The set up of the house was great, with everything centered on that view and the big living area. They also provide a TON of plates, pots, glasses, etc. which was really nice. I am quite picky when it comes to cleanliness of vacation rentals, and this exceeded my expectations! Finally, the owner was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and very nice. I was having a hard time organize our group, but the owner was very willing to explain things and accommodate the changes. All in all it was a wonderful experience at the most perfect place. We didn't even leave the property besides to go to the beach. We all walked away from that weekend knowing it was going to be one we always remembered, and it couldn't have been possible without Nature's Paradise!! Thanks!

Owner's Response: We are so pleased that you and your friends enjoyed our home so much! The views of Hood Canal, Dosewallips Estuary, Mt. Rainier, and Dabob Bay are breathtaking. It is fun to see the sunrise or sunset from the upper deck, lower deck, or dock. It is also fun to take long walks on the beach and watch the Seals watch you and have many eagles and other birds fly close to you. It is so fun to sit around a big dining room table and treat your friends to home cooked meals. I am so proud of my hard working cleaning team, they always do a wonderful job. It takes two people or more to do the job because the size of the house. I am so glad that you and your friends have memories for a lifetime from your special girls weekend at Nature's Paradise. You are welcome back anytime! Thank you, Tammy
