|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
We'd love to welcome you to Casa Hokol Kin (which means 'beautiful sunrise', in Mayan). Caribbean vacationing is simple, relaxed and easy. You're on island time here -- and we'll make your stay comfortable. You'll go at your own pace. You can 'do it all' or laze around and do nothing at all. It's your choice.
Swim in the warm salt water pool just outside our door...enjoy our little beach on the Caribbean Sea, just a few more steps away. Fish off our private pier, or we can help you arrange a guide so you can fish the barrier reef (some of the best bone fishing you'll find anywhere)! You can enjoy the private palapa (grass thatched 'gazebo' at the end of the pier), shared only with other Los Encantos community guests.
Are you the adventuresome type? Get your Indiana Jones on and discover nearby Lamanai Mayan ruins. (We do it right in Belize. You won't be dodging tour buses to get a glimpse of the ruins.) We can set you up with the area's best tour guide for an adventure of a lifetime. To top off your tour you'll be accompanied by Howler monkeys and Jabiru storks. Please don't feed the alligators! But do enjoy the live rainforest as you ride up the river in the tour guide's boat under the canopy of air plants, orchids and jungle vines.
Are you a SCUBA diver or snorkeler? There are beautiful barrier reefs to discover (the second largest coral reef in the world is 10 minutes from your door at Casa Hokol Kin), fish to see you've only ever dreamed of, swimming with the sharks and the rays. We can help set you up with a tour certain to take you on a dive you'll always remember.
How about fishing? Fishing in Belize is some of the best you'll find in the world. Snapper, small grouper, barracuda... How about fly fishing for snook, tarpon or bonefish? There's nothing like it -- go fishing during the day with Pancho the fishing guide, and he'll fillet your catch, ready for dinner that night.
If you come to enjoy the local, Caribbean flavor, dine in luxury at a local restaurant (there are so many to choose from!) or eat in at home while you bask in the balmy, Caribbean evening breezes.
Explore Ambergris Caye and get around for day trips or a night on the town by taxi, water taxi, or golf cart. Our house is about 4.5 miles from San Pedro Town (that's the town on Ambergris Caye) where you'll find some great shopping and souvenirs made by local Belizean artists.
Casa Hokol Kin has three bedrooms and three baths, and can sleep 8 adults.
Enjoy all of the comforts of home (but leave your worries). You'll have a large television with cable TV and DVD player, as well as wireless internet access. The kitchen boasts a refrigerator with freezer, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker and microwave. Each room has its own air conditioner. Our lovely Belizean caretaker, Sergio, and housekeeper, Rachel, will take care of your requests and help you feel right at home.
Ours is the largest of the four Los Encantos houses (our small, private community), and has three bedrooms and three baths.
Some of the best times have been when guests have had a wedding and filled all of the houses. A Belize wedding is not to be missed! And what a great place for a family reunion! Be sure to contact us if you'd like to arrange for more than one house. We're happy to accommodate you!
No matter if you're two for a honeymoon or romantic week, two or three couples getting away from it all, on a family vacation, a group on a bone fishing or SCUBA excursion, you're sure to enjoy Casa Hokol Kin!

I'm Loran Nordgren, your host. I'm originally from Chicago, but now I split my time between my place in southwest Wisconsin (New Sundborn Ranch) and Belize.

I fell in love with Casa Hokol Kin when I first saw it. I love not just the privacy, but that it's so easy to get to some of the greatest fishing in the world. You'll love to come here for SCUBA or snorkeling too. If you do, bring your own snorkel and mask -- I have the fins for you.
Los Encantos is 4 houses in a private courtyard with salt water pool, and our own beach. Our caretaker, Sergio, and housekeeper, Rachel, will help make your stay comfortable.
We had a marvelous 7-day stay in this magical spot. Property managers Rachel and Sergio helped us everyday; from offering restaurant tips, helping arrange golf cart rental, preparing a fantastic meal for 10, arranging tours. We can't thank them enough! Trish at Caye Management has been instrumental in helping arrange all number of travel options and plans for months before our visit. We loved the home, spacious enough for everyone to have private space or the whole gang for meals or games. We went to Lammani with Daniel Nunez.... What a fantastic adventure day we had! We took 3 different tours with Genie's Coral Divers; Snorkeling with guide Noel was most memorable and a must-do for anyone visiting. The 10 of us fit together in a boat for snorkeling and diving for the day at Hol Chan marine reserve and Nurse Shark Alley. Another morning was spent fishing inside the reef! The home was lovely, clean, beautifully appointed. The grounds and pool immaculate and charming. The golf cart trips and water taxis were easy, and fun adventures. The people of the area were warm and so proud to share their beautiful country. We will never forget our time spent here.
We had the pleasure of staying here for 10 nights and everyone of them was wonderful! Raquel and Mario, the property managers, were attentive, helped us with everything and were an great source of information. Raquel made us dinner one night and it was delish!
The property is clean, the pool is perfect and the area is private. Another added benefit is it is a quick 15 min golf-cart ride to town -- it's a bit bumpy but that's part of the adventures.
The showers all worked well, downstairs water pressure was the best. Importantly all the AC units worked and the kitchen was fully equipped which made cooking in easy. the upstairs patio are as the perfect way to start and end the day and the hammock was used daily.
I highly recommend this property for anyone seeking downtime with a beautiful view.
The only con is that the island itself has a tremendous amount of seagrass which makes walking into the ocean from the beach a near impossibility -- but that is island wide and not the fault of this property.
We just returned home from Belize and stayed at this location (Casa Hokolkin). I have ALL positive things to say about this house, this location, and the grounds. First, the house is awesome, clean, and decorated nicely. We had a party of 12 (5 adults, 2 teenagers, 5 kids). The kids ages were 11, 6, 4, and 1. We were able to use a pack n play and a high chair provided by Caye Management, which was very nice and clean. All ages had a blast! The house is very roomy and all bathrooms were very clean and accessible. The children had an awesome time playing on the beach and in the beautiful pool, as well as fishing and snorkeling off the Palapa. Loren, the owner was available for questions via email and provided us with clean water, a kayak, fins, and numerous beach towels. The pool is beautiful and steps from the house. The children had a blast swimming. Los Encontos has four homes, which were each rented. The pool was plenty large enough to accommodate all guests with ease. The groundskeepers were very helpful, quick to respond and hard workers. Rachel cooked us a fabulous meal and did some of our laundry per our request. We rented golf carts to get us to town. Los Encontos is located about 4.5 miles N of San Pedro. It took us about 30 minutes on the Golf Carts to get to town. The roads are bumpy, but we considered this an adventure. We ate at some great restaurants that were close by the home. In response to the comment from "Texas," we never had an issue with the water supply. Rachel did ask us to keep in mind the supply is from the rainwater and to not leave it on when not in use. If 12 of us can use the water daily, I think it is a non issue if not abused. I recommend this home to all. It made our stay in Belize memorable and comfortable. Thank you to Loran and the groundskeepers for attending to our every need.
Lastly, for those concerned about getting to your destination once arriving, it was seemless. We had taxis and water taxis waiting for us. Our driver was ready to greet us, allowed us a stop at the grocery, and we were on our way to the home. It was perfect and much needed after a long day of travel with small kids:)
casa hokol kin has some areas of concern as far as i am concern. During our stay it rained and there was 3 leaks around the house .The water usage as goverened to the point that it was a distaction.Maybe it is something of concern for the owner to address before rental, not after or in our case not at all till we arrived. The property is nice and the pool was great ,there is a matter of cleaning the unit ,it was not very clean. If you come bring your own towels \paper and bath..it was a request that was ignored. The distance from town witha bad road was dissapppointing ,thank godness for local grocer down the street. My first visit to belize was about the people ,they are very friendly. However the roads are terrible and the north side is lacking any true organize development .Thank you for the home to stay in and i probaly will come back to belize ,but maybe closer to the south of San Pedro.
