galata!place is on the second floor of an elegant 19th century building very near the beautiful Galata Tower. The apartment has a huge living/dining room with two sofas plus a dining table in the cumba (bay window area) which overlooks the street below. From these windows there are views of the tower to one side, beautifully lit at night, and a little of the Bosphorus in the opposite direction. Sishane metro station is about 3 minutes' walk away.

Along a spacious hallway there are two quiet and comfortable bedrooms (one double, one twin) plus a very large, well-equipped kitchen with stylish breakfast table. The apartment has a big family bathroom (with bath and shower over) and smaller second loo.

Galata!Place is a spacious 120 m2 in total, bright and airy with lovely high ceilings. All period features (sash windows, panelled double doors etc) have been reinstated/restored and the floors are exposed original floorboards. The living room has an elegant original ceiling fresco.
About owner

istanbul!place is a small Turkish-British family project. Julia and Tarkan (with Eren, our 10 year-old son) used to live in Istanbul then Singapore and are now balancing life between Istanbul and England.

Your questions and booking will be handled by us and then, in Istanbul, Tarkan’s family will welcome you to your apartment, give you the keys and explain about practicalities and the neighbourhood.

With its genuine, very welcoming community and intriguing mix of cafes, restaurants, small grocery shops and artistic boutiques, we think it’s the most interesting part of Istanbul.

No matter where you wander, you will always find your way back to Galata Tower, which has been a well-loved landmark for the last 700 years.
