Vacation cottage/guest house for rent in NY's Adirondack Champlain Valley. The main floor is a 320 sq ft great room that has 2 built in daybed/couches, a piano, 2 arm chairs, a dining table with 4 chairs, a galley kitchenette (with mini-fridge, 2 burner electric hotplate, microwave, toaster, and all plates, pots pans, etc.. included). There is a full bath. Over the kitchen and bath there is a sleeping loft with queen sized bed and stand up (6’+) headroom, a knee wall separates it from the cathedral ceiling over the great room. There is an air conditioner and a gas fireplace. Outside there is a small stone terrace, outdoor furniture and a small grill. The setting is 16 wooded acres 1mile north of the hamlet of Wadhams.

We are located in the Lake Champlain Region of the Adirondacks. The Westport public boat launch (for access to Lake Champlain) just a few miles away.

Whiteface Mountain Olympic ski area is a 45 minute drive.

There are many opportunities for outdoor adventures close by (rock climbing, mountaineering, river or lake paddling, hiking, cross county skiing, mountain and road biking, and backpacking.

Perfect Winter Spot

My husband and I were in love with this rental the second we walked in the door. It was the perfect winter hideaway. We did a local hike to Coon Mountain, and drove around, but mostly stayed in the schoolhouse to relax, read, cook, watch DVDs, and talk. Cooking on the hot plate was fine, no issues. The place was immaculately clean. I would definitely rent this place again.

Thank you for sharing the "school house" with us - what a delightful little place! It was easy to find with the directions you provided and perfect for our needs. We were able to fix a simple dinner and enjoy a night in front of the fireplace after a long day in the car. Everything is so well thought out - extra blankets, the entry closet.. - we wish we could take this cottage home with us. Thanks again for a relaxing stay!

Had a great time and enjoyed the property. Great accommodations and the owners were super nice and great to work with. I would definitely stay again if it is available when I head back to the Adirondacks. Everything was neat, clean, organized, and had a nice home but in the woods feeling. 5 stars to the owners for making a trip great with a nice place to stay.

Great location, great place, and great people!

This vacation home exceeded our expectations. There were so many little things that made the stay feel really comfortable. The owners/manager are really thoughtful and considerate - they even leave you multiple choices of bodywash and shampoo. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the bedroom is accessed by a ladder. If you do not feel comfortable climbing the ladder, the 2 purple day beds in the living room are really comfortable to sleep on; I think they were twin-size mattresses. There is a little BBQ grill outside of the home and every tool you'll ever need for it is provided (actually, every tool you'll ever need in the kitchen is also provided!) The supermarket is ~10-15 minutes drive away, and hiking routes are only a few minutes drive away as well. We really enjoyed our stay and we would whole-heartedly recommend this vacation home to our friends.
