Point Reyes Station House Rental Photos and Description
A large four bedroom, two and one-half bath home
In a setting of stately oak, bay and pine trees, on Inverness Ridge overlooking the hills of West Marin, this quintessentially California home has until recently been exclusively a family sanctuary. It boasts a wonderful great room with chef's kitchen, a dining table that will seat 10, and a living area with a wood burning fireplace. There are multiple nooks for curling up with a book, playing cards and board games, birdwatching, and admiring sunrises and sunsets over Tomales Bay, Elephant Mountain and the hills beyond. Fox Ridge has spacious grounds, with multiple large decks, hammocks, and picnic tables. The master suite is at one end of the home, and three additional bedrooms share a second full bath. A powder room is located near the main entrance. This home is a perfect base for exploring the many beautiful hiking trails and beaches of the Point Reyes National Seashore, and is a short drive from its Bear Valley Visitor Center. Fox Ridge is a peaceful and versatile space that has successfully hosted family gatherings, reunions of old friends, and retreats, strategy sessions, and workshops for organizations. Writers, artists, and visionaries of all kinds find plenty of space for individual work, but can also come together in larger meetings and breakout sessions. The Inverness Ridge setting is tranquil, but very close to the restaurants, shops, galleries, and markets of Point Reyes Station, Olema, and Inverness. Hikers can acess some of the Point Reyes National Seashore trails right from the front door. Other nearby state and county parks offer visitors lovely walking trails (a few wheelchair accessible) to explore the Tomales Bay Ecological Reserve, Papermill Creek, and redwood forests. Foodies and locavores will delight in the opportunity to tour artisanal cheese makers, picnic at the Drake's Bay Oyster Company, and enjoy the range-fed meats at Marin Sun Farms.
