About Judy Suhr
Your hosts are Ben and Judy, thirty year residents of Necedah, retired, who enjoy meeting new people. Ben is a retired Land Surveyor and Judy a retired Teacher. While they live on the property in another house they respect privacy and are available if there are any questions you may have about the area and your stay.
The rental property was built for aging parents to live in during their retirement years and are no longer living; therefore sitting empty except for visits from family and friends.
Why Judy Suhr chose Castle Rock Lake
Ben's family visited the Necedah area in the 60's-70's and purchased the property in 1976 because they fell in love with the remoteness of the area and the fishing. Ben and Judy were married in 1989 and the property was given to them as a wedding present; it has been their home since. It is close to town (3 miles) and yet far enough out of town to enjoy what living in the country is all about. Seclusion from the main road, quiet star filled nights, wildlife sounds and sightings, as well as, room for gardening.
What makes this house unique
When you enter this home it is inviting and open. The kitchen has skylights and the living room has vaulted ceiling with windows all along the southern wall (ceiling to floor) for viewing the river and wooded property located on the other side of the river. The living room and kitchen have items placed throughout that have been collected over the years adding a uniqueness to this home away form home.
You can exit to the patio via the back door and step up to an extension of the patio with table, umbrella and chairs for outside dining with a view of the woods and river. The patio is lined with tiki torches and lights for night time enjoyment.
The front porch has a wicker couch and chair for your leisure along with a recliner/rocker.
