The beach & ocean plus many fine restaurants are minutes walk away. Taxis are abundant in the area and buses run every 20mins to the town centre from the beach if a car is not desired

Having lived in Portugal most of my adult life & loving this part of the Algarve, especially Lagos, Porto de Mós was the obvious choice as it still retains its typical Portuguese charm and as this is where I live it seemed the right choice to provide high quality holidays right here

EXCELLENT APARTMENT

This is a spacious, extremely well equipped, comfortable apartment exactly as described, situated on the hill above the magnificent beach at Porto de Mos. Good location with beautiful gardens and lovely view. Swimming pool is unheated therefore a bit cold early May!
The area is a work in progress - beautiful flats and apartments and areas awaiting development. There is no heavy construction at present, just finishing and maintenance.
The pedestrian pathway down to the beach was a bit overgrown in places and not quite complete - short steep dirt track at bottom, but perfectly manageable unless you have a pram or small children. It’s a longer walk by road but just a few minutes by car.
Porto de Mos is just a few kilometres from Lagos centre with atmospheric old town, modern marina and lots of nice, reasonably priced restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Veneza Restaurante and Restaurante O Alcaide.
Car is recommended and we found Lagohire to be excellent, perhaps a little more expensive but first class vehicles and no hard sell.
Apartment highly recommended for a relaxing, enjoyable holiday.

VERY WELL EQUIPED APPARTMENT

We've travelled with our 15year old son and for us it was important that he's also his own area. The appartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - very nice modern style. Also the kitchen, we used it only for preparing breakfast, but everything was there from freezer, dish washer, ceran cooking field - nice bar chairs for chatting when the other person prepares. The living room equiped with a dining area as well as a chilling area with TV - here you could only receive a view UK programs (would say this was the only min point for us - as the weather was bad and we've to stay more time in the appartment than planned). Also WIFI is available which is for business but also for kids extremely convenient. The whole building not too many appartments and therefore as well not too busy in the garden and the pool. The view to the see is great and to walk to the beach possible.
So clearly we'll book this place again - as the standard is high and comparable with what you've at home. Hopefully next time we've more luck with the weather.

GREAT HOLIDAY

We have just returned from a really lovely holiday at this apartment and resort.
The accomodation was really good. Everything was to a very high standard and we were not disappointed. The kitchen had everything you needed if you were going to be self-catering. We actually ate out most evenings as we found it wasnt too expensive and the food was very good, We tried both restaurants on the beach . One was better than the other in our opinion but it all down to personal taste.
There were lots of other beaches to explore all within a few kilometers of each other. We visited a few and again were delighted in what we found. The people were so friendly and appreciated our lame attempts at speaking Portugese.
It was a very relaxing holiday. It was great to have a swimming pool literally just outside of the apartment. The beach was a few minutes walk away.
John was very welcoming and made us feel as if we could contact him if we had anything he could help us with.
The only criticism ,which was made by the female members of our family, was the absence of a full length mirror! I guess we can forgive that as the positives outweigh the negatives.
We hope to return again and explore the area more.

AMAZING MODERN APARTMENT IN A GREAT LOCATION

My husband and I stayed in the Amizade apartment June 15 - 22/12. The pictures on line are beautiful but are not of the Amizade apartment but are of one quite similar. The kitchen was almost identical to the one in the pictures (sink was on the opposite side). The living/diningroom was all in one huge room and was even nicer than in the pictures. The bedrooms were both tastefully decorated with modern linens and decor, while the pictures show more traditional linens. You can access the pool from the parking garage below. Not sure if we could have parked in the garage or not as we parked inside the complex's gates every day. Another option is to park just outside the gates of this complex. Lot's of parking choices nonetheless. John met us at the time we had arranged and there were no issues. He was easily available by email or by cell phone. The wi-fi worked fine and we were able to access our email and skype home often. The complex/unit is really a 5 min walk to the most beautiful sandy beach. Nice for walking and enjoying the sun and views. The pool is not heated but we could still swim in it.It took us a few days to find the garbage bins. They are in silver/metal smaller bins lined up on the right side of the road on Avenida Cristovao Columbo right around the corner from Avenida Fernão Magalhães (or vice versa). There is a really nice Intermarche supermarket a close drive away from the unit (maybe a 20 minute walk away). Lagos is maybe a 5 min drive away and is a really cute small town with a great marina. Lots of restaurants and some small shops but if you are looking for shopping drive to Albufeira or Portimao (Aqua Mall) or to Faro Mall. Beaches not as nice in these cities. If driving on the A22 highway keep in mind this is a toll highway. The charges can be payed after 48 hours and you have 5 days to pay at any local post office. Lagos has a CTT Post Office just down the road and to the left of the Intermarche supermarket.
We drove to Seville Spain, to Faro and to Albufeira and it cost approximately 48 Euros. We ate twice on the Porto Da Mos Beach Campimar restaurant and really enjoyed the food. We had a bottle of house wine, an shrimp cocktail and two of the steak dishes for maybe 45 euros. The food was excellent. We also found a really fun and reasonable British restaurant/pub in Lagos called Rockefellows. Hamburgers are huge and steak, chicken wings and ribs are all great and quite reasonable. Apartment was amazing and we would stay there again

GREAT APARTMENT

Myself and my two teenage sons stayed at the apartment for 6 days in early April. The apartment is just how the pictures show it, everything feels brand new, very clean, great bathrooms, furnishings etc. Also the kitchen is very well equipped, not just the usual 4 plates you sometimes get with other accommodation. The view is lovely and the beach a few minutes walk down the hill. John was very flexible with our check in and out times which is great when you have an early morning or a late evening flight. I would it hesitate in recommending the apartment, a very high standard and good value for money!
