With Oxford Street, Regent Street, Soho, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and London’s theatre district just round the corner, this exceptional property is perfectly situated for you to get the most out of your London stay.
Have all the creature comforts and safety of home in this quiet, five star apartment whilst enjoying everything London life has to offer on your door step. Look out of huge Queen reception room and you will see the iconic BT Tower. With this as your landmark you will never get lost finding your way home from anywhere in central London. At the end of the road to the right is Oxford Street, shopping heaven, and to the left is the beautiful Regents Park. A better, more central and accessible London location is hard to imagine.

The apartment has all new appliances such as microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, single oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer and a Vita mix. Free high speed Wi Fi is available. UK Apple chargers for IPhone 4, IPad 2 and Macbook Pro laptops are also provided as well as a brand new, powerful hairdryer.
The bedroom for rent houses a fabulous, hand made, UK king size bed (US Queen) with luxury 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and a top quality mattress for a wonderful nights sleep. Guest dressing gown, slippers and plenty of fluffy towels are provided along with a selection of luxury toiletries.
The bathroom, whilst compact, provides both a bath tub and a shower facility.
Due to the exceptionally high standard of accommodation it is only suitable for a maximum of two non smoking adult guests. It is a non smoking, no pet property. There is no elevator and there are four short flights of stairs up to the property from the communal entrance.

The apartment is located in Fitzrovia, in the heart of London’s West End. Once home to writers such as Virginia Woolf and George Bernard Shaw and more recently Lady Gaga, Madonna and Guy Ritchie. Numerous media companies and the headquarters of the BBC are based in the area, hence its vibrant, celebrity filled buzz.
Oxford Street (five minutes walk away) is the mecca of shopping in London. There are hundreds of stores running from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road with the most expensive found on New Bond Street, South Molton Street, Saville Row and Conduit Street.
London’s West End offers theatre, music, comedy bars and restaurants. Take a wander down Wardour Street, Dean Street, Shaftesbury Avenue and the Haymarket to experience the centre of nightlife in London.
Shoppers will also enjoy the Covent Garden markets and boutiques in Soho and Carnaby Street. For some true British style head to Liberty of London (about ten minutes walk from the flat), full of beautifully-designed goods housed in its original Tudor building. On Regent Street, you'll find Hamleys, which claims to have been the finest toy shop in the world for the last 250 years.
Westminster describes the area around the Palace of Westminster (also known as the Houses of Parliament) and is home to many of London’s prestigious monuments and attractions. Enjoy the Royal Parks; St James's Park, Green Park & Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, the home of the Queen and St James's Palace, situated in Pall Mall.
Attractions within walking distance of the flat include Buckingham Palace, The British Museum, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Soho, Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, The British Museum, Somerset House, the Royal Parks and Regents Park.
The apartment is so well located that you can walk to most of London's main attractions. If you find yourself getting weary simply jump into a London Black cab, hop onto a double decker bus or take the London Underground to explore further afield.
All the London Underground lines (known as The Tube) are easily accessible, with both Oxford Circus, Great Portland Street and Goodge Street Tube Stations located a few minutes walk from the flat. If you fancy overground travel, buses to the whole of the rest of London are available on Oxford Street, just at the end of the road. The mainline London railway stations of Euston and Kings Cross are a couple of stops on the Tube away or a few minutes in a cab. If you are traveling from Heathrow Airport you can take the Paddington Express into central London and be at the flat in less than thirty minutes.

Recommendations for local restaurants and bars.
There are so many restaurants to try in the area and so many different cuisines we wouldn't want to limit your exploration, however here are a few that we thoroughly enjoy.
For breakfast try the Riding House Cafe on Great Titchfield Street itself. We choose to go early because it can get very busy during the lunchtime and evening periods as it is so close to the BBC headquarters, but for breakfast and a bit of celebrity spotting it can be a good place.
There is also a lovely fish restaurant called Bonnie Gull at 21 Foley Street. Also the Thai River on Foley Street, just before the fish restaurant, has very good food and is great if you want a quiet meal.
If you are really in the mood for something special and don't mind splashing out we can highly recommend the Langham Hotel for afternoon tea. (n.b. not to be confused with the Langham Court Hotel opposite the Yorkshire Grey Pub on Langham Street) It will cost you £40 per head but it's an experience well worth doing. The Langham Hotel bar is also a brilliant place to go for an evening drink, it's twice the price of a London pub but it’s a wonderful experience and really worth a visit. Get a seat at the bar and watch the highly professional bar tenders mix cocktails like a cabaret!

This was our first vacation rental booking, and it couldn't have been easier or more enjoyable. We booked for a last-minute vacation tagged onto work travel, so with little time to plan we were very pleased with how quickly our hostess responded and how thorough her information was (both the practical "how tos" and ideas for local restaurants and entertainment).
Checking in and out was quick and easy. The flat is very clean, spacious and attractive (with a great kitchen). It was a great place to relax at the end of a busy day's sightseeing, especially with soaks in the deep bathtub and the comfortable bed. We also appreciated the special touches like the thick towels, excellent wireless service, the long Apple cord with UK-plug charger which I badly needed for my US iPad, the blow dryer, the umbrella, instructions for appliances and heating, etc.
The flat is in a great neighborhood with plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs nearby. It is also within easy walking distance from several Tube stations and Marlybone High Street's boutiques and gourmet restaurants and groceries (the Fromagerie was a big favorite).

After we discovered this treasure for our first stay in London last summer, it was clear that we would return here for our next trip. So this was already our second stay in Mary’s and Laura’s apartment. Again everything was just perfect as described in our previous review (see F&M). We will definitely come back again on the next occasion!
Staying in Mary and Laura’s flat made our London trip an unforgettable experience. The apartment provides everything for a comfortable stay, from a well-equipped kitchen up to WiFi. Moreover, it is decorated with love and passion; you really see that somebody put his heart in the apartment design. My wife and I were feeling immediately like at home. In addition to the other reviews, it should be mentioned that the apartment has a large living room and a quite large separate kitchen. Laura offered us also a warm welcome and was always very helpful with providing information before and during our stay. There is an extensive leaflet that explains all details regarding your London vacation, the neighbourhood (stores, culture etc.) and the apartment in particular. The apartment is located in a quiet road but close to Regent’s Park, which we enjoyed very much for walks. Shopping opportunities (Oxford Street, Liberty’s etc.) are nearby; also underground stations of several lines can be reached within minutes. It is hard to imagine a better place that is so quiet and at the same time centrally located. We were sad when we had to leave and will definitely come back to this wonderful and unique place – everything was just perfect.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful flat on our last trip to London. The flat is very clean and well appointed with all that you need for a very comfortable stay. The owners,Mary and Laura are wonderful to work with. They are very attentive and helpful with a lot of recommendations for all that you may for your stay including restaurants, stores, food markets, underground stations, etc. the location of the flat is excellent. There is great shopping and restaurant options within easy walking distance, including the theater district for shows. There are multiple underground stations closely too making it very simple to go anywhere you want both in London or outside the city. I can't say enough about this wonderful property and the location. It is on a quiet residential street so it is wonderful to come home after a busy day in the city to the peace and quiet of your home away from home. I would highly recommend staying here.
This apartment/flat was so comfortable and chic. I love all the red (although red is my favorite color). Mary and Hasan were great to communicate with. Mary was very responsive to all my questions. I hate when you send an email and have to wait 2-3 days for an answer. I would send Mary an email in the evening and I would have a response when I woke up the next morning (I live in Southern California)
The flat has a fully stocked kitchen. There is oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and spices. The bathroom towels are thick and fluffy (DKNY) - I hate thread bare towels. The TV has an HDMI connection so I was able to use my Apple TV. There’s also a strong WIFI connection. The hair dryer has a directional nozzle (very important for the ladies who use a round brush to dry their hair). The bed is also very comfortable. My husband has a bad back but he never complained. He usually takes Motrin/Advil like its candy when we're on vacation.
There are only 2 possible negatives. This isn't an elevator building (all you NYCers know what I’m talking about) There are several flights of stairs to climb. My husband and I didn't have any problems (I’m 36yo and he's 46yo) so if you have any back or knee problems this might not be the place for you. Also the bathroom is very small (which Mary is very upfront about). The small bathroom wasn't a problem for me but if you like a large bathroom with a vanity this flat isn't for you. There is also security deposit required which initially made us a little hesitant. But Mary returned the deposit through VRBO within 4 days (2 of those days were Saturday and Sunday)
I would definitely recommend this flat to my family and friends and I will be returning.
this was our anniversary trip to london after an istanbul to venice cruise. well kept, quiet property. 5 minutes walk from oxford street. exactly as described. although we were late getting to the apartment, mary was kind enough to wait and help us with our luggage. four small flights of stairs, but narrow. she had also brought some milk for tea, as well as flowers for our anniversary. only irritant was the separate taps for hot and cold water in the bathroom sink. not used to that! there was a big, fully stocked kitchen. also, washer, dryer and dishwasher.this was my first time booking through vrbo/rental agency, so was quite concerned. turned out to be a very pleasant experience that we'll certainly repeat.
My wife and I spent 11 wonderful nights in Mary's one bedroom west end London flat near the well know intersection of Oxford and Regent Streets. The location was excellent for us, within easy walking distance of attractions and .4 mile to the Oxford Circus subway ( or tube) station. We could go virtually anywhere in London from the Oxford Circus station (Buckingham Palace, British Museum, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, China Town, theaters, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Regent Street shopping, etc) within 30 minutes door-to-door. We loved eating breakfast in the morning prepared in a lovely kitchen, spending the rest of the day exploring London's great museums and sites, arriving home for a late afternoon snack, then off again for dinner, drinks or theater.
We love to walk, so it was perfect for us. If we wanted a cab we just used the iPhone App named Halo and within no more than 2 minutes, a black cab showed up at our doorstep (we could actually track the cab and knew the drivers name as they were on the way to pick us up). Suffice to say we loved the location.
Mary's flat was just what we wanted. It is located on the second floor (which is actually up 4 flights of stairs) and has 1 bedroom, 1 bath, a fully equipped kitchen and a very nice living room. Internet access was great, worked flawlessly and good bandwidth. Furnishing were very comfortable and it was a great home away from home. There is no elevator in the building, so it would not be good for those who have difficulty with stairs. The flat is very quiet, so no problem with sleeping. Closet space is a little tight, but typical for London as we understand it. The kitchen is fully equipped, and has dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, stove, microwave, etc. It is not an eat-in kitchen. We ate our meals at the table in the front room and it was just perfect.
The owners (Mary and Laura) were in close contact with us prior to arrival, during arrival and as we departed. They could not have been more helpful and pleasant. They also provided home guides in the flat that answered virtually every question we had. A young man greeted us upon arrival with keys, explained the flat, and helped carry our luggage upstairs. Upon departure another young man helped carry our luggage down to the cab. It was a very nice touch and one that was unexpected but greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Mary's flat.
