GRANNA'S FARM HOUSE

Almond Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Original 1940's rustic farm house with modern amenities. Located in the Smoky Mountains this 3 bedroom 1.5 bath home is off of Hwy 28 S in Bryson City. NC 28 is part of two scenic byways in the state (Waterfall Byway and Indian Lake Scenic Byway). This rustic farm house is decorated and furnished with antiques and hand stiched quilts. If you are looking for a nice, clean, secluded get-a-way this is it. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. You might enjoy sitting in one of the rocking chairs on the covered front porch in the cool of the evening. Also enjoy a drink of cold water from the spring which has supplied the house since it was built in the 1940's. Nestled in the midst of what was a 200 acre working farm. This house has beautiful views. There is a creek bordering the property as well as a bubbling brook running through the front yard. Bikers love this location because of Highway 28 which runs in front of the property. We also have a covered garage for bike or car parking. We now also offer one dozen, complimentary, farm fresh, brown eggs laid by our chickens right on the farm!

the beds are full size, not queen size. the 1 1/2 baths is not entirely accurate. the full bath does not have a toilet that any female could use as it is against the wall. the tub/shower needs a non slip mat in the tub. other than that the location is easily accessible and wonderful views.

NICE HOUSE AND GOOD LOCATION

  • 4 of 5
We stayed at this nice house for one week. The driveway was great because it was paved and accessible (basically no incline). The kitchen is stocked well and there is plenty of room. The bedrooms are roomy and bright. This accommodated our family well. The house is in a quiet area and inside it has an antique motif. The location is great (20-25 min. away usually) for many recreational activities such as motor boating, white-water rafting, biking, zip lining, horseback riding, tubing. There are many different things available in the nearby cities like the Trout Fishing in Cooper's Creek, museums in Franklin, shopping in Cherokee, and Gem mining. We had a lovely time at Granna's House and the owner was very polite and resourceful.

SKI DAYS

  • 4 of 5
The house was exactly as pictured on a long winding road that was well maintained during the snow. The house was spotless and the kitchen was well equipped. There is phone service and beware....there is no cellular service unless you walk around the property, which can be a good thing! There is no internet and was a hardship for our family when looking at events the day the ski slopes were closed.

I would suggest better pillows, cards and other gaming items for families and a note letting people know to leave their computers at home. That said, internet access is available a short ride down a lovely winding mountain road.

We drove to Maggie Valley to ski and took a day trip to Asheville and one to Cherokee for the casino. All drives were reasonable and the roads were kept clear.

We would love to go back in the warm weather and let the kids romp on the lawns and explore the stream.

More than worth the money.

GREAT TIME IN THE MOUNTAINS

  • 5 of 5
We came into Bryson City on the most beautiful day you can imagine. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and it was a great day to be outside. We went into the ice cream shop to pay for our cabin.
They treated us to ice cream and we completed our paperwork. We sat outside and finished our ice cream and then went to the house. They have really fixed up the house and we had plenty of room. They had a comfortable sofa and love seat in the living room and 3 bedrooms with big beds. They had plenty of towels, washcloths and linens. They even had a container of coffee and creamer left on the counter for me. It is always the personal touches that make the most difference and they made sure they added them to this house. We had a great weekend and they are great people to work with. Thanks for a great weekend and we hope to see you again.
