House - 3 bedrooms + convertible beds, 2 baths (sleeps 8)

Taffy Buoy is a recently decorated and newly furnished canal front home with a spacious pool, patio and heated spa. Be our guest and enjoy a home we hope provides all the facilities needed for a great vacation; a boat dock, WIFI, (tandem) Tarpon Wilderness kayak, bike, lots of water teeming with wildlife, including dolphins, manatees and leaping fish, and of course the white beaches of the gulf.

Taffy Buoy is decorated in a bright, coastal theme throughout. The first floor comprises an ample lounge, dining area, kitchen and master bedroom. The lounge has a 42' flat screen TV with DVD and convertible sofa bed. The dining room has seating for 8 at the table and 3 more at the bar. The fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and island has a sliding patio door onto the lanai and patio, through which the morning light floods in.

The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, closet and drawer storage, a 32' wall-mounted flat screen TV with built in DVD and a patio door leading out to the lanai, spa and views of the water beyond.

The upstairs comprises two bedrooms, light and brightly decorated they both have great views onto the canal and mangrove preserve. One bedroom has a queen size bed with wall mounted flat screen TV and the other has two twin beds (one with pull out that converts to sleep 2) and a wall mounted flat screen TV. Both upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom, located between.

The stand out feature of this home is the private, fenced in rear patio with huge pool deck and a proper sized pool - great for entertaining and relaxing! You can also dine outside or enjoy a drink at the wet bar under the screened-in lanai.

Why Kim Kidd chose Fort Myers Beach

We first came here in 2009 and rented on this same street. Perhaps it was the sunset over the white sandy beach or the sight of a dolphin pod on the bay while kayaking, but we fell in love with the mixture of ecological beauty and vibrant down to earth life.

What makes this house unique

The front of the cottage is cute and welcoming but we fell in love with the beautiful rear patio. The private pool and dock with the timeless beauty of the mangrove preserve beyond did it for us, and that's before we saw our first fish jumping!

Taffy Buoy is perfectly located mid-island, a five minute walk to the white sands of the gulf, a mile from the action at Time Square and yet at the same time, a secluded retreat far from the madding crowd. Also within a few minutes walk of the house are our local supermarket Topps, local liquor store behind it, the community park with pool, water slide, basketball courts, tennis courts, and playground, and Heavenly Biscuit, the best breakfast location on the island. Meanwhile all you hear at Taffy Buoy at night is the sound of nature.
