Sandpiper is a wonderful immaculate home decorated in soft pastel colors and tiled throughout the main living area. Sandpiper enjoys plenty of sun with a south rear aspect looking over the Rotonda River which is the widest inland waterway on Rotonda. Designed for maximum comfort and a laid-back style, Sandpiper is a popular repeat rental. Our home has been professionally furnished and is light and bright with many charming touches. There is a formal living dining area and a separate family room with entertainment center. The master bedroom opens out onto the pool deck and the master bath has a separate shower and bath as well as his and hers vanity units. Bedrooms 2 (Queen) and Bedroom 3 (Two singles) share the 2nd bathroom which is also accessible directly from the pool deck. There are sliding doors in bedroom 2 which also lead to the pool deck. We have a longer than average pool so that we can swim laps when staying at Sandpiper and there is very comfortable pool furniture.

We love this area. It is very relaxing, yet if you are more energetic, there is plenty to do. We are golfers and there are no less than 6 courses within the Rotonda development. There are dozens of very good beaches just 10-15 minutes away both south and west of Rotonda. Shopping and restaurants are readily available and for the energetic, we have 2 bicycles to use on the local bike trails and you can hire kayaks to enjoy guided trips up the Myakka river. We have several State Parks in the local area and some good horse riding at local stables. Our home has a comprehensive in-house guide full of ideas of things to do and places to go. Our management company have tourism brochures and are happy to provide a free map of the area on request.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Cancellations -
    Provided the owner receives written notice of cancellation not less than eight weeks before the holiday commencement date, the hirer will not be required to pay the full balance. The deposit amount, however, will be forfeit. All cancellations must be notified in writing at the earliest opportunity.

    In the event of you have to cancel your booking the following charges will apply:

    More than 8 weeks prior to arrival - Deposit only
    Between 6 - 8 weeks prior to arrival - 50% of rental
    Less than 6 weeks prior to arrival - 100% of rental
  • All bookings are subject to the £75.00 single fee towards the cost of prep, final standard clean and BBQ usage including one free tank of gas. There is also a £150.00 refundable security deposit
  • Initial Payment
    Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit payment and the signed booking form.

    Security Deposit
    A refundable security deposit of £150 is required to be paid with the balance of the rental. This is to be held as security against return of keys, inventory damage, excess cleaning costs, long distance telephone calls where applicable etc. The owner will return this deposit to the client subject to a satisfactory inspection.

    Balance Payment
    The balance of hire will be due 2 months before the holiday commencement date. The owner reserves the right to cancel a holiday where full payment has not been received 8 weeks prior to the holiday commencement date. Bookings made within 8 weeks of departure require FULL pre-payment.

Notes: There are tennis courts on Rotonda which guests can use and the Englewood Tennis Club is excellent There are sometimes beach chairs, it depends on our previous guests! They are however inexpensive to buy locally. We don't have staff, but our management company are excellent. They are not intrusive, but on hand should you need them and very quick to respond to requests from our guests.

Especially for the Golf Enthusiasts: The golf on Rotonda is excellent with 6 courses, 4 of which form the Rotonda Golf & Country Club. These 4 courses are immaculate and easy to access. Our Property Management Company can provide you with more information and phone numbers for the courses are available at the house

Especially for the Fishing Enthusiasts: There is fantastic fishing here. You can fish from the canals at the bottom of the garden. You can fish from Piers and the beaches. You can take a boat which takes groups of anglers out to sea, or hire a guided flats boat and head backwater into the mangrove swamps to catch the famous Redfish, Snook, Sheeps Head, Ladyfish and Spotted Trout. Fishing varies by season so please ask for more information. For game fish, from mid-April to mid-July you can enjoy the amazing Tarpon Fishing, also known as the Silver King. These incredible fish average 100-200lbs and are prolific in this area in season. You can also fish for Shark in season. There is something for everyone!

Especially for the Sports Enthusiast: The Tampa Bay Rays are league winners and have their winter camp at the Charlotte Sports Stadium with is just 12 minutes from the house. From early April to early September, their Minor A leagues have their spring camp there. If you want to see a real American Baseball game, ask us for more information!

Other Activities: There are 2 bicycles at the house and 2 sets of golf clubs for the use of guests

Fantastic Holiday at Sandpiper in Rotonda

We absolutely loved staying at this property. It was immaculate, beautifully maintained and had everything you could possibly need - so well kitted out. Didnt feel like a rental, felt like you were staying someone's home. The management co employed were wonderful, first class customer service! They were so helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this property to all my friends, and have already done to many of them! We didnt eat out much as we have young kids but loved BBQ'ing on the patio every evening while kids played in the pool-so relaxing.
We visited Muscle Mania Car Museum in Punta Gorda which was fantastic. I'm not a car enthusiast but loved it-Amercian cars from all eras. Sanibel as always is a favourite of ours so we popped down for the day. Kids loved driving golf buggys around Boca Grande. So many gorgeous beached to choose from. Loved watching the gators swim up and down from the safety of our screened patio!

We take great pride in our home, but know that the support we get in Florida from our management company is very important and they consistently get rave reviews. Homesearch and Hugh keep the homes in excellent condition and are very quick to respond to guests (and owners!) staying at the house. It makes for a very successful partnership!

Since building has slowed down, we are seeing more wildlife and Marilyn (Homesearch) has told us that the otters seem to be increasing in numbers as well as the wild hog. The variety of wildlife and the birds are part of what makes this part of Florida so special and why we chose to build our home here.

Finally, thank you to the Grants who were wonderful guests. We hope to see you back again soon!

Wonderful holiday home.

We have just returned from our Florida holiday. This was our second week after a week in Orlando. The Sandpiper is a fantastic home and I could not recommend it more highly. It has everything you could need from a great pool, spacious and well furnished home right down to even providing a cool bag and toys for the beach. Would love to return again.

A perfect home from home

My partner and I have recently returned from Sandpiper and we can't recommend it highly enough.

This is the first time we've rented a house on the internet and were a bit apprehensive, but Jackie, the owner, made the whole process completely stress free for us.

The house is in a quiet residential area; is spotlessly clean, exceptionally well maintained and furnished to a very high standard - the pictures don't do full justice to the spaciousness of the house and quality of the fixtures/furnishings. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt at home. Family pictures, books and games added to the welcoming feel of the house.

Absolutely everything guests could want has been anticipated, right down to pool toys and a picnic box for days at the beach. There are a number of guide books, plus a comprehensive handbook containing leaflets for nearby attractions and even a menu for the local takeaway. The local management agent is happy to help with suggestions for trips, and offered first class service when we had problems with the internet connection (it was fixed within an hour of being reporting).

There were only two of us, but the house would be equally ideal for families. Sitting out on the lanai with a cool drink after a dip in the pool makes for a perfect evening!

We spent much of our time out and about. For nature lovers I'd recommend a visit to the Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve. The boat trip is a must to see manatee up close. The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary near Naples has a 2 mile boardwalk through the sanctuary and is great for wildlife viewing. On the way back call at the Miromar Outlet to pick up some bargains (Clinique and Estee Lauder far cheaper than duty free prices). Also worth a visit are Sanibel and Captiva Island to marvel at the beautiful houses. The ball game at Tropicana Fields is a fun way to pass an evening. If you fancy a trip to a real American diner, Sweets in Port Charlotte serves huge portions of tasty food at very good prices.

Would I recommend Sandpiper to my family and friends? Yes, most definitely.

Perfect Getaway

We had a week here with two teenagers after a week in Orlando. On first entering the home everyones reaction was wow why would anyone rent this out! The house is stunning, spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped, big and in a great location. The photos do not really do the villa justice.
It looked like it was going to be a special trip when we had the comprehensive brochure provided by the owners after the payment was cleared, we were not disappointed. This brochure is taken a step further in a handbook in the villa with all the necessary info for your stay from beaches, restaurants, golf courses to beauty spas and hairdressers. Two of the restaurants recommended in this book a Mexican (Compadres in Englewood) and Italian (Nicolas Kitchen just outside Rotonda) were our favourites.
Beaches are fantastic and there are plenty to choose from about a 10-15 minute drive away you could of course spend time by the pool which has a large comfortable shaded area ideal for keeping cool in the Florida heat.
The house backs onto one of the canals in Rotonda which has plenty of wildlife to spot (gators, terrapins and birds). The golf offer is good value - August is classed as off peak so after including golf in the rental, we only had to pay for a buggy which is $15 plus tax. Two sets of clubs are available to use in the villa. Courses were quiet and very well maintained.

Excellent quality villa

Came and stayed at this lovely villa for four days following a hectic time in Orlando. It has a great pool that was thoroughly enjoyed by our 9 and 6 year old boys.

Quality of the villa and furnishings are of a high standard and everything worked as expected. Excellent pack of information provided before travelling.

We are not golfers so can't comment on the local courses, but we appreciated the peace and quiet. Beaches were within a half hour drive. St Petersburg and Clearwater with their museums, Dali exhibitions and Tampa Bay Rays are within a couple of hours.

Highly recommended.
