We are a family of active, outdoor enthusiasts. My wife grew up in Bozeman and this cabin is an opportunity for us to be close to her family as often as we can. Our work lives keeps us moving frequently throughout the nation, but we love that we have this cabin to come home to.
We purchased this cabin because we really love the location and we hope to share our cabin getaway with you and your family.
The location of this cabin is so perfect! It is so close to Big Sky as well as Bozeman. The views are spectacular, and I love walking out my front door down to the river.
Going to Montana was my daughters idea and I am glad she suggested it. My wife daughter, 2 dogs, younger sister and her husband all stayed at the cabin. As stated in the above it did get hot in the afternoon, but by moving to the front of the cabin until the sun pasted below the mountains it was cool. The area is beautiful and only about 10 miles from the city of Big Sky. We found a daycare for the dogs between the cabin and Boseman which was convinient. We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and would recommend it to anyone.
Our family of five plus two dogs spent a week at this cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable and included the basic supplies one would expect from a vacation rental. The weather was warmer than anticipated and the house does not have air conditioning but it remained cool throughout the day with the drapes drawn. The temperatures dropped considerably in the evenings which made sleeping with the windows open pleasant. The house is located on a dirt road that loops around the subdivision with adequate space between the properties . The neighbors (and their dogs) were very friendly. The Gallatin river is only a few houses away and we enjoyed walking down to play in the water each day and watching folks fly fishing. In addition, there is a wonderful trail right by the river, which for us was a huge benefit. One of our dogs is deathly afraid of fireworks and we were pleasantly surprised by the fact that the only time those were an issue was on the 4th of July itself instead of for the entire week, which is what we're accustomed to dealing with. And, even then there were only a few throughout the evening. Very nice.
The cabin is located only a few miles away from Montana Whitewater so we spent an afternoon rafting right past the house. It is about 30 minutes from Bozeman, 10 minutes from Big Sky and about 45 minutes from the West Entrance to Yellowstone. For us, it was a perfect location. Far enough away to relax yet close enough to take advantage of all that the area had to offer.
The listing was completey accurate and very helpful in making our decision to stay here. The property was immaculate, and it was evident that it was recently cleaned. The bathrooms sparkled, which pleased us immensely. The kitchen appliances are very new, even down to the toaster and coffeemaker. It is fully stocked with pots and pans, baking dishes, silverware and dinnerware, utensils, and ready for all your family meals at the gorgeous, large dining room table. The owners were most helpful by informing us of every detail of the house, and we will whole-heartedly recommend this gem to all of our friends and relatives. The neighbors were very warm and welcoming, and being next to the Gallatin River was a thrilling experience. There are so many activities within minutes, sure to please any family member. We visited Big Sky frequently, and we can't decide which of the many restaurants we visited had the best food! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You must visit this setting to appreciate its beauty and ambience. The canyon is a lovely experience, with mountains on both sides of you - and the mighty river! We will go back this year. Five stars from us!
The listing description as well as the photos clearly and accurately define this rental home. My family and I enjoyed this clean, comfortable, and pleasant home for our visit in June. I have raised my family in Montana but have been living in Maryland for several years. This location gave us the most excellent access and opportunity to enjoy Yellowstone National Park, the activities in West Yellowstone (we recommend the Playmill Theatre), and Big Sky, as well as the ease of getting to Bozeman to get groceries. And after a full day of activities it was so nice to come back to this quiet home in this beautiful canyon. How convenient to just to go out the front door to sit and relax by the Gallatin River. If we still had some energy left, some of us took time out to go for a short hike without needing to drive to a trailhead. Our family will be back to this rental home not only in the summer but, with Big Sky just minutes away, also in the winter to ski and snowboard.
Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski areas, world famous fly fishing, class V whitewater rafting, and hiking are all must do's in Montana.
Bozeman Hot Springs and Chico Hot Springs are some of the popular soaking pools and you can find some of the finest dining and restaurants you could ask for.
