This 4 Bedroom 3 bath resort like home boasts 200' of deep water canal frontage. Enjoy your own private paradise with your own Marina backyard. Dock has 4 floating boat slips that can accommodate up to four 50' yachts or sail boats, one 10,000 lb boat lift that fits up to a 30' boat, and one jet ski ride on dock. Water and electric hook-ups available. Sit pool side or canal side and enjoy long canal views. The Majestic queen palms always sway to the sea breeze. There is hardly ever a still day. Beautiful lush tropical landscaping surrounds you. Watch butterflies, parrots, ospreys and eagles from the pool, multiple dock seating areas, under the gazebo, on the hammock, or up on the 500' sq ft roof top deck that give a 360 degree panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico and the private beach located right across the street. You can see for 20 miles in all directions with Anclote Key and its historic light house clearly visible 5 miles due West. See amazing sunsets and storms roll in off the Gulf. Visit the local boating barrier islands with Clearwater Beach only an hour south by boat (faster than by car) or head north to Homosassa Springs or Crystal river and dive and swim with the Manatees. Great fishing from the dock or by boat. We also own and rent the house next door, VRBO#618147 if you are looking at a week already booked at this property or if you have a large party such as a family reunion or are planning a corporate retreat.
If you are looking for something in the Orlando area and would like to enjoy some of your stay in two locations visit our other VRBO listing #389940. Located on Lake Tohopekalega (Toho) in Kissimmee, FL.
We custom built this home with entertaining in mind. We are outdoor people who love to boat and live by the water. We wanted to create our own tropical paradise. The yard is very lush as we love to work in the yard and enjoy flowering plants. Bougenvilla, orchids, ginger, and bird of paradise are almost always in bloom.
Patty Deremer purchased this house in 1999
You can do all Florida has to offer by the way of sun, boating and fishing. Go see the pro's play football, baseball or hockey! Visit the Theme Parks! Swim with Manatees. All this only minutes from your front or backyard depending on how you are traveling-boat or car?
Too many to list. Deep water dockage, grouper off the dock, private islands 4 miles away by boat, Tampa only a 40 minute drive. What's not perfect about all that?
The outdoor space at this house is fantastic. Great quality furniture, hot tub and pool with remote control, a rooftop deck, balconies, docks and beautiful private yard with gorgeous landscaping. The speaker sound system in this house AND in the backyard was awesome to use. We really enjoyed the kayaks. The local beach was close, small and private. The furniture, floors, laundry machines and televisions were very nice in this home. Please know that the house has lots of stairs and no bathroom on the ground floor but we did not have a problem with that. (My youngest child is age 5). My only suggestion is that for a house of this caliber, the drawers, cabinets and pantry should be cleaned out and better organized. For example the kitchen had many utensils but no spatula to cook eggs or grilled cheese; nor did it have plastic dishware to use by the pool. We had a wonderful time at this house and would recommend it.
House is exactly as it shows on the site. Everything worked and was awesome! Tons of room for the entire group.
Nice location and lots of room in house. The bad things were lots of stairs and plumbing for toilets not good. Two dead cockroaches one morning in kitchen and LV RM. No keys so if you lock the door in garage you are locked out! The back
patio was great and so was pool and hot tub. Lots of stairs to get there and no bathroom on ground floor.
I will be writing a review after my stay with plenty of detail. So far I want to say Patty the owner has been incredible to work with and on helping with all the details about the activities we want to do and information about the area. We are arriving very late and she has made this a worry free process. We are so excited about our upcoming stay and easy this owner has been to work with!
First and foremost, this is a beautiful and private property at the end of the canal stream on the gulf. We appreciate its expansive patio and deck area. The rooftop deck was our favorite hangout spot after the sun sets. The home is also in a gated block, but can be accessible and has a port large enough for two cars on the side of the property (outside of the gate) should you have guests not necessarily in need of the gate code. Our party also made use of the available kayaks, bikes, fishing gear, and pool.
Here are a few things that we feel should be improved on, based on our many years of experience renting vacation homes across the nation for our company workshops and retreats:
- This home really only sleeps 8 comfortably, and should be advertised as such. The airbeds supplied were old and leaked. The unfortunate guests in our group that slept on the airbeds had to refill the beds 3-4 times a night.
- We arrived and were welcome to the home with fumes of floor finisher. I don't know about you, but if I was expecting guests in my vacation home that day, I'd probably make sure I get the home aired out beforehand (especially if my guests didn't check in until after 5pm).
- Although there were linens in the home, it didn't have simple toiletries like kleenex or toilet paper. Mind, there are three bathrooms, and I supposed I'm just not used to having to go buy toilet paper upon arrival at a vacation home.
- Unless there was a special trick to the bathroom locks that we weren't informed of, they do not lock. There are locks, but doors can still be opened from the outside. We had to enforce a rule on our party that if the bathroom door is closed, make sure you knock. So if there WAS a secret to properly locking those doors, please provide instructions on how to do so.
- WiFi does not work, but we didn't go there expecting WiFi connection as we brought our own hot spot devices.
- AC didn't work entirely for first 1.5 days. The owner did see to the problem right away and had the air conditioner working within hours.
- Unfortunately, to only add more to this list -- Whoever the cleaner was did a poor job cleaning the home prior to our arrival. The dining table was dirty and oily upon arrival. The rooms and linens were dusty. The oven was crusty and dirty! We had to sweep the kitchen floors.
Perhaps our hospitality standard was set high from our previous VRBO/Homeaway 5* experiences?
Nonetheless, we had a great time. Thanks.
This is the perfect home for a family vacation. The owners are so nice and are willing to help with anything you need. The deck area and pool area are like nothing you have ever seen and the house is sooo beautiful. The beach is 1 block from the home and it is private.
It is worth every penny! Thanks Patty for your hospitality!
