This newly constructed home was completed in May of 2012. You will find that this home has all the amenities of a luxury home, yet is designed to be comfortable. In designing this home, we wanted it to be a place with room to entertain large groups with plenty of seating. The gourmet kitchen has a six-burner Viking stove and a beautiful hand-crafted farm table that seats 12 comfortably, not to mention plenty of other seating around the concrete island, which can seat an additional 7 people. The back porch extends the length of the home and is stamped with sea-shell impressions, which leads to an outside wood-burning fireplace. The area surrounding this outside fireplace has plenty of room to cozy up at night and listen to the ocean. The master bedroom has a beautiful ocean view with a door that exits to the back porch near the fireplace. There is a walk-in shower in the master bath constructed of slate and tiled with pebbles underfoot bringing the feel of the outside into the home. It's so relaxing to lounge here and watch the trees sway back and forth while seeing and hearing the Pacific. The garage is home to an air hockey/pool table. There is a sink and countertop area to aid in any outside entertaining to be done in the courtyard. The garage has a full bath with a shower that is equipped with two shower heads. In the courtyard, you'll find our hot tub, picnic table and BBQ all in the middle of a well-manicured area with a dry creek running through it. This is also the perfect spot for our hammock to be set up, which we keep in the garage for renters. In addition to this picnic area, we have another area set up with a table and bench that has a nice view of the ocean and is unsheltered and unmanicured providing more of a natural environment.
If you've ever been to Gualala, you'll understand why we chose this for our second home. The town is quaint, quiet and it's very easy to slow down and take a break from the chaos of real life. The micro-climate that hovers above Gualala is a huge bonus. Many times you'll find that when the other coastal towns are foggy, Gualala is full of sunshine and warmth. As for our property, we chose this because we wanted a big enough lot (almost an acre) that we could build a home for entertaining and never worry about having enough room to park cars, people to sleep or be too concerned with having neighbors close by. Our property isn't in a typical neighborhood. We don't have any homes on either side of us; It's quiet and relaxing, but also very close to town so that many times our guests just prefer to walk into town for something to eat or do a little shopping. Our property abuts Old Coast Hwy, which is a very quiet old road that used to be the main highway but now is only used by residents of the neighborhood, as it's not a through street. Great walking road for those morning walks...careful, though, don't stand too close to the cliff.
The town of Gualala and our south coast region has a variety of activities to fill your day from art galleries to zebras and everything in between.
