We are a family of 6. We have 4 children and have lived in this house for 7 years. We have lived in the same community for over 13 years. We have a house at Okanagan Lake in British Colombia where we spend the summers. Our family enjoys skiing, hockey, soccer, disc golf, golf, mountain biking, camping, boating etc. We love to travel and have fun together as a family.
Doug Vass purchased this house in 2004
This property offers a home like none other. It is very friendly for children and quiet and relaxing for adults. It is central to everything in Calgary and offers quick access to the mountains. All amenities are nearby.
This house has so many unique benefits including a gorgeous view of the city, a huge back yard that never seems to end because of the ravine behind, and best of all is the warm and cozy feeling inside the house that is perfect for entertaining.
We were 12 adults staying at this location for a wedding we all attended. Sleeping and getting all of us ready for the wedding was no problem at all....there was plenty of room. The kitchen was great and stocked with all dishes, utensils and pots and pans that we needed to have family dinners.
The house was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Had a few glitches like Wi Fi not working, but the owner was very pleasant and prompt it getting things fixed. We were a group of 10 seniors, most over 80, so we came to spend time together and the house worked well for that. It has stairs but we were all able to negotiate that.
Unfortunately, we had originally booked a 7 bedroom house with the owner, but he withdrew that property after all our plane reservations were made, so we had to settle for this house. It was comfortable for 6 parties, but not for the 7th party.
The house was as indicated on the web site. We did have a little trouble with the coffee pot but that was minor. Doug was very helpful. Our trip wasn't quite as planned because of an early snow storm, but we found that we even enjoyed that. We would certainly recommend this home to other people.
We'll keep this short and sweet. Had a great time at this VRBO. Everything was in order and worked out great for our family. Owner was responsive and helpful when we needed to ask questions. Our family enjoyed the backyard, deck, trampoline, hottub. Nice master bathroom fit for a king and queen! No complaints at all. Would stay here again.
My family traveled from Vancouver, Toronto, Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Ottawa, Carlton Place, and Barrhaven to come together for a wedding in Beiseker. We had an excellent time at the house. We made meals, played games, went into the hot tub, jumped on the trampoline, and had a bbq. You do need a car to easily get around town and exploring (Several of us traveled to the Tyrell Museum, Banff and Calaway Park). Thank you Christie and Doug for such a wonderful spot.
We booked the house to have a family get together. 4 couples and our children. We all loved it. The trampoline in the back yard was a big hit with all the kids and occupied them for hours. There was also a very nice foosball table and ping pong table in the basement. Lots of room for visiting and relaxing. The only criticism I have is that the kitchen seems pretty small for a house of this size, and for some reason when families get together everyone always seems to gather in the kitchen.
A stones throw from the largest park in Calgary (Nose Hill Park). Airport is a 15 minute drive away. COP ski hill is 15 minutes away. Downtown is a 15 minute drive away. Within minutes of 3 world class golf courses.
